  1. Be okay with winters like the last 7, I mean. Not like we'll have much of a choice! And nah I'm sure some of those in here purely for the science of weather will still want to track. But I think it may become more like the SE forum with maybe 3 main posters, haha
  2. Well, IF things continue like this in the coming years, I think we're gonna have to learn to be okay with this. I mean seriously--for our own mental/spiritual health! I mean yes we don't know everything about the future (only what the trend has been up to this date), but if this is coming/gonna get worse...we have to learn to be okay with it--I mean we have no choice, lol. It may not be worth getting upset about (or even giving too much thought to)...otherwise we'll be living in a dread of "terrifying" trends and such creating the illusion of some objectively bad thing coming that isn't really objectively bad. My guess is if, say, a decade from now, snow chances are where they are now or worse...we would have gotten used to that reality (by force--because literally nothing would've happened, and things could be worse by then!). We all love snow--but maybe our reality in the future is more of this, I don't know. But it may soon be time to kinda distance ourselves y'all, lol I mean unless you love tracking weather just to track weather (and to each their own), if you're tracking for snow? It may not be worth it, seriously. I mean we'll see...but I've already kinda been preparing for that reality. With you-know-what being a potential cause!
  3. But did the niño ever really couple though? Not saying that it diminishes the issue...as neutrals haven't been good either, but I'm not quite sure we can compare that to when we have a moderate or stronger niño since we haven't yet had one during this stretch.
  4. Trying to remember if that was an issue the first two years of this now (finally) fading la nina. Don't remember this being an issue last year, but I could be wrong.
  5. We don't really know...I mean the last two la ninas were median snow which is what they've kinda always been minus 1995-96 and 99-2000. This year seems like an anomaly for a nina...So I'd like to think we can at least hit median in ninas. Now neutrals...the last couple were so awful I'm not sure they work anymore, lol
  6. Yeah that was basically what I was saying, lol Neutral or weak won't do...gotta be legit!
  7. Well, gotta see if El niño can get going. I'm not sure neutral is enough--we need a legit niño! (Although not a super one, lol)
  8. Not an easy feat as in...a low percentage thing that rarely happens?
  9. Forgive me but...when was the last time a boundary being dragged behind a wave actually worked out? I hear it here all the time, but I honestly can't remember the last time it actually worked! It just sounds more like something that rarely happens but used as weenieism, lol
  10. Nein! I could've sworn I said it first when I mentioned something on a model run looked like an avocado! Will check the history, lol
  11. I'm gonna start charging royalties for every avocado reference
  12. Meanwhile what's happening outside right now surrrre looked good 8 days ago...lol
  13. Not here, lol BWI got like 10 inches from that one didn't it?
  14. Wait that was the Delores episode too? Forgot that was all the same one, lol
  15. Wait hang on, hang on.......... *runs over to window" DELORES!!!
  16. Man I'm up this late almost every night...so staying up for the Euro ain't really staying up, lol
  17. Man this winter the Jaws theme oughta embargoed...lol Like put in the corner to stay
  18. Don't know about anybody else, but I'll be practically living in OZ the next couple months...was just in rehearsal last night!
  19. I looked back...since 1966 a big blast only happened ever other super niño (65-65, 82-83, 15-16). The others (72-73, 97-98)...nope! 72-73 was particularly brutal because we just had back-to-back ninas in the two years prior. Then the super niño torched and spawned two MORE ninas! No wonder the early to mid-70s looked the way they did, lol
  20. Thankfully the Spring unpredictability barrier for enso is just starting, lol I'm telling you, if we get an overwhelming niño that torches all the way through, and then spawns two more ninas (like the last two did), SO HELP ME! That would be a nightmare scenario, tbh
  21. Good article on the current enso predictions, and also has some great "ENSO for dummies" info for us laymen https://www.severe-weather.eu/long-range-2/el-nino-event-forecast-2023-2024-global-weather-impact-winter-united-states-canada-europe-fa/
