  1. When was the last time it snowed on New Year's, I wonder?
  2. This. The NS dominance inherent in a nina can always break your heart even in a good look. Potential is always the emotional danger zone for snow weenies...gotta wonder if now is a good time to resolve to just kinda mentally take your hands off and let things happen. Speaking of 96'...I wanted to know about the exact storm track and exactly how that happened. Does a diagram/video exist of how it came together? (I'd love to see how the ns and ss were able to come together in a nina in time for us, lol)
  3. Yes it has. It would be poetic, but weather doesn't have to follow poetry and we're due...I think we gotta let this one be and have zero expectations. Don't get too high on a good look! (Hard to do I know)
  4. Wait, over? Thought it would still be snowing overnight up there?
  5. It's weird that during this stretch the worst fails haven't been temperature...just precip! And redevelopment is tricky with areas e/ne more likely to get in on that unless it tucks enough. But eh, maybe this is too granular for a week out, lol
  6. Yeah I'll take a hard pass on that pass. I cannot remember one time in recent years my yard has benefited from one of those. Baltimore must have some weird geography, because it's either north and south or east and west--the good bans just don't seem to hit here (been almost 10 years, it feels like)
  7. Merry Christmas fellow snow crazies But seriously--hope everyone has been able to experience some joy of the season today. And for those who are hurting during this season, know that I am praying for you. And for those who believe or are searching, let us always remember why we celebrate: The sending of the greatest gift we could ever receive: Jesus. Immanuel--God with us. Each of us. Can't get much better than that Christmas Blessings all!
  8. And now for a Christmas selection by Nat Clean Coal...
  9. Like bruh...these models are confused as heck on the pattern. That was so bad, lol
  10. Biscotti doesn't say much (especially during the season) so he can be a little hard to read. But I can't see him actually caring about winning--let alone revenue--and let Harbaugh stay. If he was thinking about firing him back in 2018 before Lamar came on...that means that while he may like Harbaugh, Biscotti has a limit. I believe he does care about winning...and there are too many coaching problems to not make the change. And just from a business perspective...the fans are not going to come out and watch this crap for another year. He's gonna have to fire him!
  11. I don't think they will be for long, lol This will all be worth it if it finally brings about the change we've so desperately needed. I think things had to happen this way in order that to (hopefully) take place.
  12. So if the site ever crashes we'll know who to blame
  13. And that translates into giving up on the rest of the winter...why?
  14. Recency bias...the models just got it "wrong" a couple weeks ago, lol Remember all rhe warm-ups that were can-kicked from mid-November through last week?
  15. Happy Anniversary to you both! Here's to many, many more
  16. Maybe I've asked this before...but given this I'm even more surprised surprised at your call for 18" in the contest thread. I mean my layman eyes saw that as a bit bullish for a nina, but what do I know? Lol
  17. I hope so...to get to the more optimistic totals we're gonna have to jam in some events over those 3 weeks, and hope to get a little something in March.
  18. Having to punt the first half of January in a Nina isn't great for anybody on the EC, in my opinion. You always have the looming possibility of that SE ridge in February. Now when you say Feb strat disruption that reminds me of February 2018. By the time it took effect it was in time for those further north like you (I think you all got a March blizzard)...but not so much south. Oof
  19. If that does turn out to be the case that would eat up prime nina climo--February and that SE ridge man (unless something were to change that this season)
  20. I'm curious to see the resulting snow results for BWI & NYC after those PNA spike years...but off the top of my head it seems only two ninos and 13-14 produced down this way. -ENSO was all below average.
  21. Seeing as one of those January days had a low of -2...yep, sounds like it, lol Ya had only 4 days the entire month get to 40 degrees! Snowfall, on the other hand...was 8.5"...and we only measured a trace for the rest of the season. Oof...and seeing as the next year was a Niño, I wonder if 1976-77 was indeed a dying nina like this one seems to be. Rather paltry results in the snowfall department...and February torched as you'd expect, lol Anybody got what they indices (AO/NAO/PNA) were that winter?
  22. Why does it feel like the sub is trying to talk itself INTO Christmas being a torch? Lolol It's like we have so much scarring the prospect of Christmas not being 60 degrees is short circuiting the weenie brain!!
