  1. Yeah but even with our small area it's still more scattered than not (think of how many times a line crosses the mountains and splits north or south). @Kmlwx give me an assist here, lol
  2. How often is severe weather "widespread", though? Isn't it somewhat scattershot by nature?
  3. In Parkville right now and it's hazy here too. Where's it coming from? (Not still Canada is it?)
  4. Ah so when you say "chewy" you mean just thicker beer? (I was picturing something you could literally chew on, lol)
  5. Hang on...chewy beer? High food value? Please explain for us alcohol illiterates (actually I may be one of the few on here, hahaha)
  6. I'm always a tad on guard when I realize things are going smoothly...like you just waiting for that shoe to drop somewhere, lol I realize it's not the healthiest way to live and it's better just to enjoy the moment...but dang too much crap happens in life to not at least be suspicious of the calm sometimes, lol
  7. Ah so it doesn't usually go from cool Mays to 100s in JJA?
  8. So you're telling me there's not a cloud in the sky...but all of this overcast is wildfire smoke? Wow, lol
  9. Had to turn my space heater on...this is kinda insane, lol Although a fb memory that came up for 2020 I was talking about how weird it was that it was still this cool!
  10. No AC and instead scattered usage of a space heater...
  11. Oy...they gonna have to cancel O's games today and tomorrow? Man we had rain-out chaos when we played the Cards last year, lol
  12. Nice--That would effectively end the drought, right?
  13. Go ahead and set it up, lolol We need ya buddy!
  14. I look at him more as a half failure: Got the rebuild part right, but nothing else, lol Because even after he leaves, we're still gonna benefit from the young talent he brought in, the farm system, and finally being involved in the Latin market--the first fruit of that being Basallo. So all of that was great: but the rest was utter failure.
  15. For me the picture is becoming a little clearer: We have a GM who is absolutely fantastic at finding young talent and building the best farm system in the league. Because the young talent was so good the team rose to contention a year quicker than anybody thought! But unfortunately...this same GM has absolutely sucked at building around that young talent. In fact he was OVERfocused on young talent, smh And then...there seem to be other issues with the way he ran things overall that are still coming to light. (over emphasis on analytics may be one of those things). As one analyst said earlier: It's one thing to get talent: It's another to win with it. And unfortunately...Elias just hasn't been good at the other side of the equation.
  16. He lives like in York, PA (or somewhere near there) doesn’t he? Maybe it's BYB (back yard bias)
  17. Wowww you find this at your house?
  18. Well I for one have been enjoying this Spring--it is one of the best one's we've had in awhile. Not too hot...cool but not annoyingly raw...it has been absolutely beautiful weather mixed with some much-needed rain. Can't ask for much better! This weather earns a:
  19. I don't hand out weenie reactions often but I gotta give ya one for that...you like heat and humidity? Booooooo
  20. Well I likewise think you argument is kinda ridiculous because it doesn't see the nuances of the situation. Ordinarily you'd be right. An owner who's already been here would have responsibility. But Rubenstein just got here...and last year he and the group were literally just trying to settle in when the seeds of this mess were already being formed. To suggest he, after increasing the payroll; should've stopped Elias from making bad moves? And he doesn't know baseball as much and a departing Burnes being the only big "owner possibly more involved" ticket? That's the part that doesn't make sense. It's just the timing of everything--I just don't see Joe he deserves the blame this time given the timing of all this.
  21. I am not--I just think the argument you and some others are making is ridiculous and I just don't get it. Calling it like I see it. If he doesn't fire Elias this off-season I'll have criticism for that. But as I see it he did not make this mess and can't be blamed for it. Splitting hairs. And Burnes still wasn't coming back here, btw Location over money won that one. Rubenstein doesn't know much about baseball...he literally said that. He left all those decisions to Elias. That you're arguing that owners should dictate all the moves a GM makes is beyond me. Were you not around for when Angelos meddled constantly and screwed things up over and over?
  22. Now THAT will be Rubenstein's responsibility. If he doesn't then happens afterward will be on him. But folks blaming HIM for the mess right now? That's absolutely ridiculous.
  23. Yes big marquee free agents and trades they certainly have input on. But no Juan Soto names were in our wheelhouse this off-season. We weren't trading away Basallo, we weren't considering some big mega contract. So I'm sorry but you're reaching with that one. Rubenstein bought in December and got full control in what...July? You're sitting here acting like he, not knowing anything about baseball operations as he said last year, shoulda made the moves for Elias this off-season, lol I think you don't have any specific criticism but you're just blaming him just because he's the owner. He opened up the purse strings more which is what owners are supposed to do--not dictate every single baseball move.
