  1. Thought it was mutton chops? (although pork chops sounds funnier, lol)
  2. Looks like that was aftert a pretty awesome ice event! Lolol
  3. I'd imagine colleges are gonna let the requirements for those tests go (some colleges may have already decided to do that)
  4. I'm still wondering why they're still baby stepping it like this at this point. I mean...what would you hypothetically do after May 15th? Lol
  5. So you're saying that the population size doesn't make their method as easily applicable here? (was asking about this earlier since I've been seeing some citing them as an argument for us not needing to have shutdown)
  6. Okay folks...so someone posted this and I wanted to know your thoughts (aside from the conspiracy "tyrannical government" claims) And forgive me if the Sweden comparison has already been discussed here. I've always wondered what happens if we and half the world got it wrong and did all this for nothing? Not saying that's the case, but...is that still a possibility?
  7. I can imagine that nobody wants to say "close for the rest of the year", but...if ya gotta extend it until at least May 15th...is there really any point in trying to bring them back in after that?
  8. Oh dang it! Now if I had read it like at the beginning I woulda made a better assumption
  9. Same, hahaha Ya know @supernovasky I think it's something about your screename...(I guess it's the -vasky suffix? Lol)
  10. And as a church musician I feel this...missing my choir, certainly missed playing this past Sunday. (But thank God for livestreamed services/masses...at least we have that!)
  11. Yeah I was thinking about that...numbers do seem lower over the weekends.
  12. Yeah today has been particularly horrid in that department...(is that our highest daily total?) Was looking a little better Sunday and Monday...but alas
  13. And I hope it does end fast (or better yet not happen at all! ) Sorry, MA bias...lol
  14. Meanwhile the vegans are quietly laughing with glee...lol
  15. The Lord is risen indeed--Alleluia, Alleluia! A blessed Resurrection Sunday to you as well!
  16. Thought I'd pop my head in here to see what crankywx has been severe honking about (ya don't see him honk that much...so I figured it had to be something notable!) So what's going on here? Lol (reading the other posts here now!)
  17. Well, we can put that on the list of the cons of trying to open up on May 1st... Ya know, it's a frustrating thing...being caught between the economy of public health. I honestly can't get a handle on which side of the argument to lean towards. To me, it doesn't seem like we are prepared to open that soon and still reduce the infections. It sounds like we are gonna need a rather rigorous system of testing and contact tracing in order satisfy both economic and health concerns) And for those saying "just keep the vulnerable at home"...is it really that simple?... Forgive my somewhat scattered thoughts. The unknowns of this are frustrating...because ya really don't know if we're doing just enough or doing too much!
  18. Ha...Is that from that movie with Bullock and George Clooney? ("Gravity"?)
  19. It snowed in the city too? Dang I missed it (was listening to a service, haha)
  20. Dang...so is this saying that the polar vortex was so strongly consolidated that it burned a hole in the ozone layer? Lolol https://www.sciencealert.com/there-s-a-new-hole-in-the-ozone-layer-over-the-arctic
  21. Boooooooo....From what you describe, I can't help but wonder how much she really cares. Yeah Iike @psuhoffman said, I'd definitely call the school about her if you haven't already. There ain't no excuse for that kind of stuff, smh (is she a younger teacher?)
  22. Ah yes, the "What's that smell?" snack of choice!
  23. I'm wondering what happens if the curve is flattened but not going down by the end of this month...I mean, could things still open, I wonder?
  24. You'll have to pardon my ignorance on this...but I wasn't sure what the barometer was for returning to normal. And since they didn't make a decision beyond this month I thought all of that was still up in the air with the virus...
  25. So now I'm wondering what the schools are gonna do...I'm still unclear on what the gradual opening back up would look like.
