  1. Ironically I fell on the ice and fractured my elbow that winter. Its like the one icy day we get and I manage to fall
  2. 2001-02 is probably the first year I remember reading him and he was still gung ho for a cold snowy winter in the northeast. We did get cold briefly in late December but it was clear it wouldn't last
  3. We had one the day after the March 2017 storm. Blasted through Middlesex and intensified over Monmouth county. I was driving through it on the GSP and it was nuts
  4. With only 4 days left in January let's start discussing the 3rd and final month of meteorological winter. Will February prove to be snowy or another dud in what has so far been a dud winter for the coast?
  5. its kinda cool to watch it move east while the main batch of rain moves north
  6. They're due for a volume III especially with all the storms in the past 15 years
  7. That period from late Jan to March was probably our snowiest of the decade. Not saying much but I do remember having 4 days off school
  8. It was a really tough forecast as closer to the city it was rain until late in the day. We kept going back and forth but I don't think they expected 8-12" to pile up in about 6 hours. Kinda similar to the November storm we just had
  9. I got stuck in that one, took 5 hours to drive 15 miles (parsippany to Montclair). It was a rain snow mix and then just turned to heavy wet snow and started piling up around 3pm And that was before gps and I didn't even have a cell phone yet
  10. Would have to be some major cold air being drawn in to get snow with the low in that position especially with mixing all the way up to Maine
  11. Probably a midnight high. I remember one day that winter where it stayed in the single digits all afternoon
  12. Winds are whipping now worse than this morning but my wind advisory is no longer in effect
  13. 108 degree heat in July, 18" of rain in August, Irene flooding and tree damage, October snowstorm and tree damage. March 9 degrees above average.
  14. Yeah I was just noticing that. The whole area is under one except ne nj, nyc and LI yet wind chill values are pretty similar to areas with an advisory
  15. I've dropped 2 degrees in the past hour after being at 16 since 8pm
  16. Yeah they should just do like college rules, but most OT games haven't ended in one possession since the new rule was implemented
