Had some lightening and a loud rumble of thunder. Heavy rain has ended. I'd say between .75-1". There's a nice run-off river flowing through the property.
Tremendous rains out this way. Flash flooding did occur. Even the fields couldn't hold the water, side streets became rivers. I would expect the Passaic/pompton/rockaway rivers to have problems.
I'm 10 miles south of Stanhope; we had a little rain, no wind/hail. Almost like a subsidence zone in winter.
Did see tremendous lightening southeast of our house, from the Mountainside/Summit storm.
The sycamore in my area have it as well. They should leave out soon; mine is underway. It's likely do the wet conditions/decaying leaves from last year. Fungal spores seem to effect their first leaf out.
They are generally resilient trees. They can handle the salt from winter road clean up and the less than optimal air quality of the city areas.
Down to 42; moderate rain continues. Over 1" now. Winds picking up.
Maybe I'll break the 40 degree mark? Could be close.
Heat was turned on after the house temp hit 58.
