  1. That sounds like the plot of "Day After Tomorrow"; a guilty pleasure, as I am a "climate denier" by in large. I even read posts above yours, where our neighborhood professor alleges "complexity" in these "denials", in a rather dismissive post; I shudder to think what else he may know about me, that I do not know. As this post will be deleted, and I may in fact be shunned from the main thread, in my own humble opinion, there is nothing worse in life than stifling debate by casting out the heretics. Science is a continual study of nature. Always evolving, much like our weather/climate. Personally, I drive a 12 year old car that still gets 35mpg; my home is lit via led lights. Much to the dismay of my wife, the winter time indoor temperature stays below 67 degrees. I do all of this, not because of my contribution to the carbon foot print, but the impact on my wallet. (Which if the greenies get there way, will cause everyone of us to reconsider our power demand, but I digress). Anyway, it seemed the AGW debate was permitted latitude here; I just wanted to speak up in case there are any other "deniers" looking for snowstorms on the horizon.
  2. The HP appears centered more east than optimal in my opinion. Would love it if it was anchored over Quebec instead of Nova.
  3. Colder morning than I expected. 24 right now. My folks are up in Vermont outside of Fair Haven for the weekend, it was 2 degrees at 9:00 am.
  4. It's been snowing intermittently in Clinton, NJ since 12:30. It's rather nice to see. Too bad my driveway backhome likely hasn't melted at all.
  5. Looks like 1/10th of ice on top of the packed snow. Absolute mess to clean up. Letting the sun do the work for the rest of this one.
  6. Still stuck at 24. Took over 1 hour to get home (usually :30). Roads were not good. Eyeballing 2.5" of snow/sleet. Winds are ENE.
  7. Getting somewhat concerned as all wunderground stations for my area are between 22-23...that cannot be good for the ride home.
  8. Had a lull, now snow intensity is packing back up. Looks like 1/2 inch so far.
  9. Temp dropped to 24 in Chester at home, around 8:20 am. At the office in Parsippany now, moderate snow, temps are 25.
  10. Because I'm being lazy (and swamped with work) what are we reasonably looking at for tomorrow? Mt. Holly has my area 3-5", others 5-8". My truck is currently down due to rusted brake lines I haven't yet repaired; so I'll be riding my trusty 2007 civic!
  11. -6 was the lowest. New personal record in my Chester house. Coldest ive personally experienced was -20 in Loon Lake, NY I think sometime in 2010...
  12. -6 for the low. Currently at -3, thankfully the wind subsided.
  13. -4... coldest night in Chester, NJ since I moved to town in 2014.
  14. The climate has changed for the better part of 4 billion years; but I digress.
  15. Flipped to snow at 5:00 when I got to town. 1.75" now. Pine boughs are weighted already, which surprised me.
  16. Turned to snow when I got to town at 5:00. Was all rain from Parsippany through Mendham. Agree with it coming down now; fresh inch in the past hour.
  17. State Courts in Morris and Sussex closed at 3:00...I am not kidding.
  18. I'm in Perth amboy for a scene investigation...it's 30 degrees. Ground is cold. You never know what tomorrow night could bring.
