Fortunate to be in the band, hopefully it fills in for those missing out. Eyeballing 9” with it still ripping.

I measured 7” at 8:45. It’s a heavy snow, no ice crust at the base however. In any event, absolutely dumping out here in southwest Morris County. Looks like a nice band about to set up shop; double digits are within reach.

29 degrees here, fine flakes. Eyeballing 5.5” on the ground. Thinking 8-10” easy will be reached in this part of Morris County. Best storm in 2 years; it was needed!

@RevWarReenactorthey have 4-5” on the ground, now. Meaning compared to the model runs as of yesterday, that cut the projected totals to “1-2”, they’ve already tripled up.

My brother texted to say he just measured 5.25” on the ground in Franklin, NJ (Sussex). He had 1” at 3:30 a.m. when he let the dog out. Rippage.

Those reports of 4-5” otg, north of my location, are awesome, considering the modeled cut-back that was going on yesterday. Moderate snow down here in Chester, everything covered. Bring it on. Edit: town plows are out, just made a pass by the homestead.

No; I disagree with the purported rate of warming and I am not yet persuaded the warming is driven by AGW as opposed to natural variability. Anyway, this thread was derailed a long time ago and apparently is the new climate change forum, so I thought I would chime in.

It is if the data is not reliable at the out set of the theory formulation; garbage in, garbage out was what I was taught. Not stating the specific climate data discussed is “garbage”, however I think even NOAA has recognized certain data sites are potentially susceptible to bias in either direction. When dealing with half degree to degree changes when compared to recorded historical data, I think all data needs to be raw, not adjusted/smoothed out. I know this statement will get considerable push back…Carry on.

Snowing moderately with fine flakes in Chester. Road is getting covered.

Light snow in Chester. Just passed 4 NJDOT vehicles on 206 north in Bedminster. Somehow one of the salt trucks drove off the shoulder into the grass area, with its rear tires buried 3” in mud. Rather impressive how far off the roadway he got that truck stuck.

9 here; my dad in Lexington VA dropped to 8!

They were much tougher; but a good many of them froze to death after eating their own shoe leather due to lack of food.
