  1. Radar actually looks really underwhelming to me right now unless it really starts to blow up soon. NAM shows really heavy rain/storms beginning over the metro in about an hour or two but radar certainly doesn't look that impressive. There's a little batch out by Leesburg but that's about it.
  2. NAM looks like it blows things up again this evening/tonight with some more good action. Even has some stray activity both Friday and even Saturday.
  3. Pretty good storm here. Was very brief, though. A few close lightning strikes and some semi-gusty winds and it rolled through quickly.
  4. I'm not really seeing a training or flood threat. Everything seems to be moving east.
  5. Rained very hard here for a short time this morning, and even a few distant claps of thunder toward the end. Been hearing distant rumbles for about a half hour now.
  6. Yeah GFS dumps on us this afternoon and NAM has almost nothing. Saturday and now even Friday look dry. So much for the stalling front and monsoon. Another win for the Europeans!
  7. Nice storm here. Probably not severe limits as the worst parts of the storms seemed to kinda dance around me, but lightning has really picked up as the worst of it has moved southeast of me.
  8. That is one nasty cell in the western half of Baltimore. Gotta be some decent hail with that one.
  9. Looks like the NAM swung and missed with that really heavy rain drifting toward Nova and DC. Seems like it is instead focused on far Southern MD. Lots of patches of moderate rain in Central MD right now.
  10. Looks like the heaviest rain is going to set up over parts of Northern Virginia that got crushed yesterday, and maybe even get into DC. Doesn't look like we will see any of that action up this way, but had some steady to heavy rain this morning, which is way more than I got yesterday.
  11. Looks like the show is over north of the Potomac. I somehow managed to swing and miss today. Gonna end up with a trace, lol.
  12. My house has seen a light shower and that's about it. However, I had to run over to the 100/Route One area and got caught under that storm and it was a doozy. Lots of lightning strikes all around me and went on for quite awhile, along with very heavy rain. Was definitely some serious ponding and running water on the roads in spots.
  13. Yeah just looking at the way radar is already popping before noon and where it's popping and the movement of it, I'd be shocked if almost all of us don't cash in today. Probably will be some big winners. Strange the GFS is so wet for tomorrow and the NAM is like what rain?
  14. Euro said I was getting 4 inches of rain this week. I haven't seen a drop yet.
  15. I was outside in EC dining when the skies opened up last night. Even some lightning, which was uncomfortable to say the least. I'm curious what we ended up with. It rained really, really hard for about an hour.
  16. Some decent thunder here. Storm seems to have intensified just west of me.
  17. Better chance in March than December.
  18. So I was really, really young in 1987 so I'm sure this distorts my view, but it seemed like they were absolutely everywhere. I actually thought it wasn't bad at all in 2004. I was expecting them to be everywhere, but I remember them not really being much of an issue.
  19. Those were the two that I was thinking of. Superstorm of 93 would be fun, too! I was only 9 at the time so I don't have any memory of that, sadly.
  20. I'm talking like one of those historical storms from the past that dropped two feet of wet snow and just had tremendous qpf/dynamics.
  21. I want to live through a historical March snow.
  22. I tend to stick with Kate Upton. Oh, you meant weather models.
  23. Yeah it's pretty crazy that the temp there can be significantly colder than Westminster, which is a pretty cold, snowy location compared to most areas around here. Of course, it also helps that he tacked on almost 6 more inches today. I'm expecting my snowpack will be gone by the end of tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. All the ice and sleet might help it last until the end of Wednesday, but 50's and 60's this time of year with sun will melt it all real quick. Maybe keep my snowpiles through Friday? Probably should shovel what little slush is in my driveway onto those piles to keep them around as long as possible!
  24. Wow that's wild you have that much snow on the ground. I think I'm around 2 inches.
