I'm actually kinda opposed to removing inclement weather days. Give the kids a chance to go out and play in the snow. Now, if it's an ice event or something like today, virtual would make sense to me.

It turned into a political football instead of just doing what makes the most sense. My kid went back this weekend and then is off Monday and Tuesday next week. It's dumb. Just give the kids till after Labor Day. Frankly, I think the school year should also end right before Memorial Day as well. Just eliminate some off days during the school year and then toss the last week or so when almost all teachers have already gotten through all of their content and kids aren't doing anything anyway. But I digress.

Agreed. Don't know about all of you, but the busses have been a mess getting kids home from school the first two days. Lots of 30-60 minute delays in arrival time, kids stops being missed, busses showing up late, bus drivers not knowing their routes, etc. Would be a disaster this afternoon. Honestly should let out at 11 to be safe given the chaos of the first two days. I think Harford is dismissing at 11.

Had my first soccer practice as coach tonight. Spent the latter 10 minutes chasing around airborne soccer goals in a monsoon. Think I picked up a few inches of rain in my shoes.

Agreed, unless we just haven't seen pictures of it yet. I expected to see Mexico Beach, hurricane Michael type destruction where this came in, and it seems that didn't happen for whatever reason. Maybe it hit rather uninhabited areas or maybe the surge just wasn't that great because of the last intensification?

I was in Myrtle Beach for Isaias, and granted, it wasn't much of a hurricane and really only started to strengthen as it neared our area, but I realized that for most hurricanes, the area right around the eye experiences really bad weather and everyone else is generally ok. Even in terms of surge, seas were up but nothing crazy and then as the eye came very close, the surge came in, not that it was that bad. Our worst winds from that storm were probably from a couple of outer bands that actually hit us earlier in the day. We were just outside the western eyewall, and it didn't have much with it. The northern eyewall ran into Wilmington and was actually pretty strong when it hit there.

Summer, winter, doesn't matter. PSU always wins.

Yeah just some steady rain here. No flood threat. I was surprised when I woke up and saw what the radar looked like. Was expecting more of a Christmas tree lights look.

Yeah, really sad what's happened to the Delaware beaches and OC because of beach replenishment. I remember growing up as a kid with so many fond memories of boogie boarding waves in Ocean City, sandbars way out into the ocean, etc. All of that is gone now, and I'm not sure if and when it will ever come back. Went to OCNJ a few years back and the waves there were great and didn't crash right on the beach.

I love the NAM with tropical systems. Has it approaching NE at 922 mb! Always fun to look at for giggles.

Good storm here. Area of rotation went right over my head as I'm between 70 and 40 out in west Ellicott City. Lots of lightning strikes as the storm approached and got pretty windy for a few minutes. Getting some beneficial rain now.

This line is really booking. Going to be through here in the next two hours.

Tough luck past two days. Last night was too far north and east. Today was just a tiny bit too far south. Just a few distant rumbles and enough rain to wet the pavement.

Absolutely amazing outside. Give me six more weeks of this.

Certainly nothing severe, but not a bad day for my area. Got a decent amount of action from the first line, got some more action from the second line, and then narrowly missed anything of significance with the final line. But probably had thunder rumbling a total of 2-3 hours today.

Looks like just some scattered storms Saturday and nothing Sunday now.
