Yep, and my guess is we are nowhere close to the way this will all evolve and major changes from run to run are still in store. I mean, look at the GFS now basically pushing the system back in time. It used to be a weekend system and now it's mostly a late Sunday/Monday storm now for us.
Boxing Day is the one that I immediately think of, mostly because I remember it was so close to a big Christmas storm.
I also think I remember the one Chill is talking about because it was Super Bowl weekend. It usually takes a holiday or something for me to remember it. I choose to stuff my brain with good memories instead, lol.
Second one was great, though Boston area getting hit hard made me kinda sad. First one was painful. So close to something big, and I had invested a decent amount in that.
This seems like a serious overperformer north of us. Saw some reports over almost 10 inches in NYC area and places in New England are going to go over a foot.
Eh, it's fine I guess, at least for those of us just west of Baltimore. But not great for everyone else. Certainly looked better just looking at the animation. Would have expected some totals around half a foot with what looked like very heavy rates for a few hours.
Probably just noise, but it did seem to adjust that band very slightly west again, and it also slightly cut the qpf for that band as well. Think we were looking at 5-7 from that on the 6z run. Looks more like 4-5+ on this run.
Exactly. And I think PSU made the point that, when it comes to globals, the Euro is much better picking out the banding features than the GFS. I pray the GFS is right, but I prayed it was right just before the last storm and I was sadly mistaken.
