Yea, I was trying to look at Truckee data too, maybe it seems more prolific because it comes in such huge amounts over relatively short time period?
Edit: see they responded to that..more "general area"
It is pretty insane out there right now as we know..
2.9" on .55" precip. Less precip than I thought, prob some downsloping here, along with warm nose equals sort of underperformer, little bit of a valley screw job.
This looks like a solid event for everyone that frequents this subforum except me..
Should have a nice sleet base though mix line north of RUT now. I dont think anything showed it getting up that far.
Central and Northern. Mitch up to me kind of porked in SVT with the mid level warmth punching through. Been crappy growth for a good portion of the day too. Maybe 2-3".
Well see how it plays down here in the southern part of the state, warm nose has never, ever underperformed...death, taxes and mid level warmth going further north than modeled. Feel like 3-4" maybe more realistic.
Yea, be hard find a more intense band in a NE synoptic setup. Went from BGM up through NH. Like you mentioned it dropped 3-4 ft in pretty short period of time.
And yes, that was a heck of grinch melt in rapid fashion..
Looking back at some pics from last Dec 16-17 storm, and was looking at time stamps from some pics I took.
So this one is about 5am..can see my car clearly and maybe 4-6" OTG?
This is 1137AM...car pretty much buried, prob 24-28" additional in 6 hours or so..lol.
That Mitch post got me curious as I haven't checked my Nest cam in a while, and actually had my first coyote on camera Sat night....came right up to the back door looks like.

Been some decent flakes past few hours, first snow on the powdery side of the season. Prob 2-2.5" with the unofficial eyeball measurement.
Can't help but laugh though at Saturdays forecast of 58F, wind and 1" of rain
Interestingly even being on the western slopes I only got to 40.3F yesterday--which is pretty decent for here CAD wise (as Tamarack laughs)
Still rock hard crust coverage, although will be long gone Monday like you mentioned.
13.5" season so far...pretty respectable, probably above average i would think.
