  1. Days and days of powder here. Excited to see what it looks like back home after this current storm cycle. Lots of good skiing exactly when it should be. .
  2. Sun valley…steep and deep!! Driving in from boise I had my doubts as it like driving through the flats of Kansas but the mountain is incredible. Packed powder on the groomers and knee deep everywhere else. The whole mountain has pitch so even on a green groomer, you’re carving. Fantastic day. .
  3. going to finish with 8-10 and that will include what would have fallen today. I'm going to def call it a bust. The 12-18 was before the second part and that was forecast to last into today, and really only produced another 2-3. It just never got the burst going to produce the foot plus totals. Not complaining tho; def a much needed refresh and produced some good skiing. I think @ORH_wxman @CoastalWx or someone else in the main chat mentioned the possibility of an extended period of moderate snow, rather than the heavy burst a couple days prior and that was a great call. Looks like lots of refreshes going forward too up here, so should be some good skiing for the next two weeks.
  4. Underperformed here. 6 by early afternoon. Round 2 has a burst tonight, but don’t see the 12-18 verifying. Good refresh nonetheless and lots of refreshes coming up. Some good late feb/early March skiing and back to 100 percent open. .
  5. Likely overdone, but def a solid stretch incoming. Going to be some good northern greens skiing to start the month
  6. That’s a great looking couple weeks on the models for the northern greens. If we can keep these all snow, might even see the stake go above average for the first time in a while. .
  7. hahaha...come on bro. Like it wasn't a shot toward him...my kids say that stuff "all I did was ask a question"
  8. Sums up pocono skiing this year pretty well; though that’s the worst of the worst. Blue mountain’s ice is in much better shape. .
  9. Been some good model runs lately. If we can stay on the right side of the boundary, we should be just fine into early March. Could be quite the line between the haves and have nots of the New England ski areas. .
  10. They have so much going for them I hope they can get out from under receivership and into an owner who can help them grow. Literally 5 minutes from a New England interstate, terrain built for speed, good woods and a decent beginner pod with its own high speed quad. They lack the upslope, so whoever buys them should probably dump every cent they can into snowmaking and marketing, but it’s such an underrated spot. .
  11. Need a scapegoat for a crap pattern. .
  12. What a difference a day makes. Hit sugarbush today. Sticky, heavy and slick. The snow was garbage on anything natural. Injury type stuff where the heaviness sneaks up on you after an icy patch. Groomers with man made stuff were obviously the place to be and much better. Sugarbush is going to lose the naturals, though they are pretty aggressive and might try and hang on. Had to pick your lines carefully on paradise. .
  13. 50 and rain…it’s like a flood coming off the roofs with the rain and melt. .
  14. Interesting..woods were skied hard here. Great weekend tho. Perfect temps, winds died quick after yesterday morning. .
  15. Classic mid winter packed powder day. Not crazy powder day, just good skiing. .
  16. 5.5” at my place 1900’. Nice thump last night 12-4am. Pack holding strong..for now. .
  17. Finished with just about 5.5” at 1900’. Safe to assume there’s 7 up top. It thumped pretty good from 1-3am. Pack is strong…for now. .
  18. 3 plus down so far…after a lull, it has picked up again. Hopefully, we should pull 6 out of this. It’s heavy, wet, slop right now. With the temp expected to drop another 5 by morning, would be nice if we could get the last 2 to lighten up. Should be decent tomorrow. Nice save by the fake snow. .
  19. So if I’m reading this right….almost a half inch of liquid, good flow for the northern greens and a decent burst between midnight and dawn…6” would fix a lot of damage and make for a good weekend. Wind probably dumps most of that into the trees. .
  20. The upslope signal tomorrow night into Saturday is pretty consistent across even the global s. Looks like a good period from 0z to 12z. Would love to sneak in 4-6 to help fix the rain/mix damage for the weekend.
  21. K-mart today. Not the greatest, but any day on snow is better than the alternative. Groomers were the place to be. Hard pack with some occasional loose granular, but not crazy icy. The woods were garbage. I made the mistake of venturing into anarchy and Juanita. First of all, crazy f’n tight in there.…but also thin and tons of debris. Actually lucked out that I avoided an injury today after a decent spill…just not the day for those. Some of the naturals are hanging on, but showing signs they will lose the battle this week. Good workout tho and some fun groomers. They were blowing ovation. That trail should be “a fun challenge” after the rain and freeze. .
  22. just bring the moisture, right? What was the actual number above average? The last ten days have rocked, but I'm surprised it got above average after the first 10 days of Jan. Nearly bare ground for New Years is a tough start.
  23. Jay looks like first Vermont mountain to close Friday and probably lower mountain only Saturday. Tough call to lose a weekend mid season. I don’t like it, but a mountain based on tons of glades and older unreliable lifts I get it.
