    Skyway entrance is several miles from my home..The Cherohala Skyway is NC 143W that runs from Robbinsville NC to Tellico TN..It is a state maintained road. The NCDOT does not close roads due to weather. The weather may close the roads due to floods,landslides,etc but state government will not. It's totally different than National Park roads which close due to weather. Those roads are not for commerce traffic. State roads are.

    Unimpressive snow amounts on the Cherohala Skyway BUT as always, very impressive beauty..This is home. 8" of powder best I could tell..the flow needed to be a tick more westerly for the Skyway to cash in. Puts us at 57" on the year.

    NWS GSP ..Graham County Christmas snow..Winter Weather Advisory and we got 9"..never upgraded to warning. Last weeks snow Winter Storm Warnings and we got 1". Today 1" and nothing issued..lol Blame it on the models I guess
