    Hmm I think there must be mixing as the snow maps count sleet as snow. If it was snow at those rates the totals would be way higher. Either way it’s one run 5-6 days out

    That’s a good track for nyc generally and nice positioned high. Not worried about temps too much at this point but we’ll see how this evolves

    That low placement is not hugging the coast but not sure if there are other features creating the warmth

    Yes they are for hype only not forecasting. I want to see Euro come back north before I get excited.

    With euro south and these trends definitely more worried about suppression than too far north

    Must have flipped back to snow because got a bit more overnight but it’s already melting so not sure how much. Maybe like half an inch total.

    Temp has hovered between 30 and 33 here all day but other than intial burst of snow it’s been flurries, sleet or drizzle. The initial burst also wasn’t that impressive.

    I still don’t know why people post 10:1 snow maps for systems that clearly won’t produce 10:1 ratios.

    Agree with a storm this massive I’m more worried about suppression than warm. Even if it did mix the coast you’re still doing way better than being too far north and missing out on the monster

    Sleeting at Bronx/Yonkers border so maybe you’re getting some enhancement just north of the sleet line

    I think the advisory was more for the sleet/zr threat on top of snow which is primarily for NW of the city. I do not know why the city was under an advisory lol

    Surface freezing line is about I80 to the Bronx/westchester border so that’s probably separating accumulating snow ha graupel

    Not a great sign for places near that latitude further east although the mid level warming is coming from the west
