  1. Our best dead ratters usually feature flooding rain and ski resorts all up and down the coast closing in January. We're checking all the boxes. Hopefully that pattern change hits in April so we can stay in the 50's with rain all spring, too.

Another drought denter? We take.. My sativa crop is underwhelming to say the least.  Throw in some power flickers and what more do you need?

Send PM if you need advise. My indica and hybrids are in a greenhouse. They might be coming in the house to ride the storm out.

Yes - there's probably going to be widespread 45mph gusts - but it's not going to be the crazy gusts a few models runs have printed out. Unless you're in a favored spot for wind, it will likely be an advisory level event. However, with potentially soggy ground and such - I'd be more trees than usual come down.

When the trees are bare they can easily handle even wind gust to 60, even with wet ground. Wind gust to 45 are pretty common and would be boring and uneventful lol

Here I will enjoy my 0.2" of snow even though I am further north than you and clear the drains and make sure the sump pump is ready for 2-4" of rain next week.  Then I will come in and enjoy iced tea with my son and daughter as well.

I'm going to walk around in the rain, then come inside and drink grape kool-aid and smoke homegrown.

To be fair, it was pretty obvious by this time last year that we were almost certainly cooked. We weren’t even teased with D10-15 longwave patterns.

I'm being unreasonable because of my emotions. That's why I'm vomiting it here lol

So are the rumors true? We are now looking past MLK day for the favorable pattern?

This is going down like our classic dead ratters. Forget snow. Having cold would be a start. I've been below freezing like maybe 10 nights. Maybe 5 nights lower then 30. I imagine this is what living in South Carolina was like 10 years ago.

  7. Jesus Christ lol. Fuck it.. I'm taking the Bob Chill route and going to enjoy the weather regardless. I love hiking. Looks like great weather for some long day hikes this month. I love growing weed in my greenhouse. Looks like perfect weather for keeping the electric bill lower.

  8. There's a hand full of people here that don't sleep. How do you guys (you know who you are) post 24 hours a day. I can get a PSU update randomly at 2 am or a CAPE LR outlook at 4 am lol. I love it. But it cracks me up. Thank goodness for the internet for bringing weirdos together.

So because I’m a hobbyist, my friends sometimes ask me about the outlook for snow, as they did tonight.

I rely on the long range threads here to some extent to get a feel. Plus common sense, reading trusted voices on twitter, and my own access to ensembles.

Tonight, when posed with the question about our snow chances, I told a story. I told them about how there’s this weather forum where people discuss the long range forecasts for signs of potential snowstorms. And i told them that for the last few years, they had to create a separate thread called “The Panic Room” where people who loved snow could go to have a meltdown without disrupting the discussion.

They got a kick out of that.

Dude.. You're not susposed to tell normal people about about this.

  10. I'd estimate over 2" here. It's weird how it's always 45-55 from November to April now. Even during storms it stays pretty steady. I guess it's the pacific puke that is doing this. Even with a NW wind the air just get drier, but not much colder. I'm guessing that's because Canada is also flooded with vomit air.

Lol  Honesty though it does feel like snow is going to be hard to come by for a while. I try to stay positive but there does seem to be a disconnect.  No storm and cold enough or storm but too warm. We shall see.

Going to deep creek to ski in late January. Can't count on snow around these parts. Gotta get my fix somehow lol.

At this rate you better go out west for that.

I still believe in a boom/bust future - but we've been waiting a long time for the "boom." Where is my 40" climate supercharged storm

I'm going to start leaving my truck running all night. Anything I can do to get my freak blizzard followed by 80 degrees the next day.
