Yeah, forecasting on Baby Ophelia has been pretty solid for the past 24-36 hours, just did a lot of catching up on NHC's discussions and graphics. It does indeed read like we're going to have some moderate impact here in the metro areas. Between lurking here, finishing some taskers at work, and squeezing the weekly mowing in...gonna be a busy day!

Indeed. I'm working ot today to get everything buttoned up. I've got a 10' tall cannabis plant in full bloom that I need to build support for. I'll be out in the dark tonight doing that. Ugh.. legal weed lol

    Gorgeous evening out.

I agree. I've got to kick on my little heater in my greenhouse. My "tomato plants" are spoiled and don't do anything under 70 at night. It will probably get to 58-60 here in the lowland swamp.

  3. Looks like things are starting to pop. Another day with storms moving south to north. I've got some dark clouds developing to my south and radar confirms there's water starting to pour out of them.

And there's the first rumble of thunder.

  4. Down here in the swamps it's sounding like a classic summer night. I was just sitting outside enjoying some really tasty cannabis (weed) on my patio while listening to the storms approaching from the south. The insects sounds and the rolling thunder reminds me of being a kid. Minus the weed, of course.

  5. I'm in Williamsport, MD. I'm in a little valley with the wind blowing right now a ridge just off to my west and SW. I'm in a open parking lot washing tractor trailer trucks lol. My guys aren't happy. It still feels dry and truck reads 102.

  6. Looks like even here in the lowland swamps were going to bake out whatever moisture we had. Nothing here overnight but sprinkles. Should be a beautiful brown fall lol. Seems like that's becoming the norm.

  7. Looked pretty ragged on radar as it made landfall. It's super rare to get those perfect eye walls with clear skies. I was hoping for some sunrise shots from inside the eye. Looks like it made landfall in a pretty good spot as far as population goes.

Woke up to the garden shower. Looks like around 0.1” fell (guesstimate based off local wx stations). Gambrill/watershed might have done a little better, which is right up the street from me.

I love it up at the watershed. I was hiking up there a few weeks ago on a weekend. Normally I go during the week. Dudes were flying past me on bikes the whole time. I'd just blow a cloud of weed smoke for them as they came by lol. I also go there to see winter since we don't really have winter on the coastal plan anymore. The lake I visit up there is almost dried up.

Flood watch for the northern Shenandoah Desert including Winchester area -- we'll see!

I've had no rain since August 8 and don't expect any this week or any time soon.  The 90s and dry next week will finish a lot of stuff off.

From what? The chance of showers today and tonight? Models don't show much.
