Where's the wind? It's been really calm under the wind advisory. Just a calm, warm spring day so far.
-
The cold stretch in January with the two minor snow events. The rest of the year was kinda boring weather wise.
-
The CMC says enjoy the wide spread 70's late next week.
-
Yup. The roads are dry and the snow is just contracting. It's been a clean storm from start to finish here lol

January Medium/Long Range: Chasing more snow to close out the month
dailylurker replied to mappy's topic in Mid Atlantic
The Euro has 1"+ rains DC and north this Friday/Saturday. Hopefully that doesn't trend north. -
Some heavy rainers would be nice. I appreciate any kind of weather. If winter is on break then let's get some good rain. We need it. I've had about an inch of precip the entire month.

Looks like 60's are showing up on my point and click. Looks like a break in winter is coming. If anyone is interested in having a commercial or residential building cleaned, the rates are their lowest of the year. Do you have an old, ugly patio or deck? Don't replace it, restore it. We have 25 years of experience and are licensed and insured. Already 32. Today feels like a spring morning compared to what we've had.

That was the best storm we had on the 6th. It was just as memorable as some of the HECS we've had. It was a beautiful cold storm followed by cold temps and low sun angle. I'm satisfied with my snowpack duration. I'm ready for more snow even if it's gone by 10am the next day.

I'm thinking about taking a trip to the Tug Hill sometime in early Feb (I'm hoping to catch a lake effect event). My main reason is to check out the extensive snowpack and ride snowmobiles. They have hundreds of miles of groomed trails all over the Tug. I'm actually thinking about staying up there next winter while my business operations are suspended due to winter. Before I start researching, does anyone on here have suggestions, tips, info on that area?

March in the lowlands yields heartbreak, wet roads, drip fest, snow that burst into flames soon as the sun hits it. Even the "Super Storm of 93 was interrupted by 60 degrees and rain lol. I'd actually take another January 6th (almost 10") followed by cold than another 2016 dump followed by 60's. I really enjoyed this January. I actually really enjoyed last years little period of deep winter as well. -

I own a business that washes commercial and residential buildings. We use a lot of water. Water restrictions could be very bad for business. I'll take warm rainers at this point. -

This drought is brutal -
I've got full coverage and it's torching. It's been the theme this Jan. Busting high temps everyday. Not that it made a difference. It's been a fantastic month.
-
Forecast was 35. Already 36. I'm thinking 40-45 lol

Low of 13 here. I noticed the other day while driving to South Mountain a big difference in snow across the area. I live just east of Crofton. From Northern Crofton/Odenton area to Columbia their seemed to be a snow hole. That area didn't do as well on the 6th and also didn't do well with the bust several days ago. Once you get past there you hit the fresh snow. Once you get east of Crofton you also run back into snowpack. I lucked out by about 10 miles on January 6th. 10 miles separates a great January and a disappointing January.

Only 27. Looks like possibly busting low today. Nothing wrong with a bonus winter day.
-
Down to 5 degrees. Fantastic morning. It's hard to believe the temp is going to rise over 30 degrees today. Well, I guess I can lol
-
I would of loved being up there for a storm. I bet the hike was awesome. The snow was really powdery and the trail was really squeaky packed powder. I could really cruise. 10/10 trail conditions. You don't even need micro spikes. I didn't see one person today. Down to 15 already.
-
Today was a beautiful winter day. I hiked out to Annopoils Rocks today. It was only about 13 degrees at the summit. Their was about 5" of powder on top of a couple inches of old snow.
-
I'm getting ready to head up to the Appalachian trail on South Mountain. I'm in the valley looking at it from a McDonald's parking lot off 40. It looks frosty up there. I'm excited lol. Temp is 10 here at the base of the mountain.
-
Same. It was actually really nice temp wish. A lot of days reminded me of beautiful days in Lake Placid. When it's sunny, calm, and 30 degrees people are sitting outside at restaurants lol
-
Euro has had a rough winter lol. Headed out to South Mountain this morning to hike out to Annopoils Rocks. I want to experience one last deep winter day before deep winter ends this weekend.
-
Its 13 degrees. That 15 degrees higher than models had 7 days ago. When we see those ridiculous low temps in long range we'll know to ignore it. I feel like the cold shot went more south and moderated as it came east. It's a shame non record cold suppressed a storm to Florida lol
-
Cold, but only 16. Check out the bay effect snow band down near VA Beach. That's something you don't always see.
-
I wonder if they had a chilly day warning? Lol. Today looks like a 10/10 winter day for a long hike. Cloudy, cold, with snowpack.
