Damn, I still have like 7-8" of crust.

Wife had her out on the sled while I was shoveling out from the December 17th screw job...she loved it. Son maybe still too young next winter, but def. 2022-2023 season.

18z NAM is worse everywhere except NE MA, oddly enough....slightly better there. Maybe some INV troughage.....

Are you looking at QPF and Dynamics? You know how these work.... rely on trends, and then if isn't there, imagine it.

Gradients at the surface are constructive, gradients aloft are destructive....same reason a hurricane gets sheared apart, despite being over bath water.

Sometimes a strong gradient is destructive for a storm because it creates high wind velocities aloft, which rip the storm apart, or at least prevent it from realizing its full potential. Ever wonder why not all waves over 84 degree SSTs blossom into major hurricanes? There are other factors, aside from the baroclinic zone to consider with respect to storm development. The ultimate irony is how sensitive intense storms are to the surrounding envt....they not only need to be fueled at the surface, but nurtured aloft.

I think the GEM bailing essentially removes any residual sliver of hope for the higher end solution, but 12z EURO can confirm in about an hour.
