  1. Pretty sweet wind with this storm. Lots of power flickers. 96.9 for the high, now down to 74.9
  2. This makes me sad. I've had tons of gray tree frogs every spring for the last 20 years or so. This year I have not heard a single one. I wonder what would cause a large population to disappear so suddenly?
  3. In case the smoke wasn't thick enough by itself, the white pines decided this was the day to unleash the pollen clouds. Just ridiculous looking outside.
  4. Boy does it look awful outside... so brown and smokey.
  5. Why is there such a dramatic difference in rain intensity between the GYX and BOX radars for this area?
  6. we're going to get hit good and hard tomorrow
  7. Enjoyed 4 nice downpours today to help keep the moss nourished. I'll start planting tomorrow, by far the latest I've ever started planting. I'm usually done by now. Really feels like the arrival of stable planting weather has been getting later and later, despite how much warmer the climate has become. Too many ticks. The bottom 30 feet of nearly every beech tree on my property has some sort of disease causing the leaves to die off.
  8. That random strike just now may have given me a concussion. Nice.
  9. I really can't believe that thing hasn't been struck yet. Probably should have read the thread before posting. I want a wedge for every storm now. Good stuff.
  10. 4.17"/hr rain rate, .58" total. Not sure if these are positive strikes or what, but the last 4 lightning strikes shook my house far harder than last years earthquake. Just massive deep long booms.
  11. Bear could not defeat my military grade bird feeder, so he took it with him along with all the hooks and accessories he'll need to hang it in his den.
  12. Saw a nice lightning strike on the way home from Shaws. Checked radar when I got home and that did a truly exceptional job of pissing me off.
  13. Peepers peeping for the first time. Extremely late this year. Even the white throated sparrows started singing before them.
