That's the real problem. And why is it going to cost so much? Prices are inflated here.

This is a great idea-- put the experts who have been doing it well for decades in their countries fix our infrastructure. My electricity flickers and goes out if there is a breeze lol. Last August, my power went out for 4 hours and it was sunny and no clouds, the only thing that happened is we had a 20 mph gust and the power went out. The temperature was in the low or mid 80s. By the way, where does the money go is an important question, but equally as important is-- WHY ARE THINGS GETTING WORSE? The brown outs and black outs are actually becoming more frequent and you don't need thunderstorms or extreme heat to bring them on anymore, they are happening in ordinary sunny weather now too.

Um. More money than that goes into the interest we pay on our debt. The most money is social security, the second most is medicare, one of, if not the largest socialIzed medicine program in the world. I’ve always thought we should hire japanese engineers and swiss managers to revamp our train system. If our trains and service levels ever happened in Japan, switzerland, germany or france, but especially the first 2, the people running it would be put in jail and thats not an exaggeration. The same with our roads. A german said that to me recently driving together around here. Our infrastructure is horrible. There is no excuse but there is a reason. To be fair most of them were underspending on their NATO obligations to their militaries because they knew the US would just foot the bill. One of the only countries that met their military spending obligations in Europe was Greece. You know why? Because they have an active threat on their border. So it's not fair to say we just spend our money on military crap and use western Europe as an example. Although we do spend too much on defense lol but that is another story for another thread. BTW NYC is the most expensive place to build in the world. The corruption, grift, and fleecing that happens here is second to none.

Don't worry, our summers are now July-October :). I could really use a nice stretch of sunny days. Constant threat of clouds/rain is getting old. My girls are trying to get in their championship game but the weather isn't cooperating.
