ChescoWx
After yesterday's summerlike weather today we return to near normal temperatures for early October with highs in the upper 60's to low 70's. We fall to below normal temperatures through midweek before we rebound to near normal temperatures again to close out the upcoming week. Our best rain chances come tomorrow later in the day but it does not look significant.

So, a nice little parenting story about this that some of you will appreciate. We took our boat out for the final time of the season yesterday and planned on cleaning it real good and basically get it ready for the winter. We had just gotten out there and are sitting in the middle of the river with the sun shining, pretty much have the river to ourselves. Wife and I had an old bottle of champagne we decided to bring along and no sooner than we pop the bottle and take our first sip do we get a call from our daughter’s preschool saying she has a fever and we have to come get her. Never freaking fails. All for some low grade fever and of course she is perfectly fine this morning. Kids, gotta love ‘em!

It reminds of me what a friend told me while, coincidentally, we were on a fishing boat. He said, ‘my children , to me, are priceless ….. but I wouldn't give a plug nickel for another one’. I’m sure you and your love will have many special alone times in your future. As always …..

ChescoWx
Some light rain and below normal temperatures today before we clear out for most of the rest of the week. We start the week with below normal temperatures with some lower valley locations likely to see some 30's for the first time this year by Tuesday or Wednesday morning. We start a slow warming trend through the week before we turn a bit cooler by next weekend.
mahantango#1
Farmers' Almanac a day ago · Old Weather Saying: “A warm October, a cold February.” For generations, folks have looked to October’s weather for hints about the winter ahead. Does a mild, beautiful October really mean February will come roaring in with bitter cold? Time will tell—but that’s part of the fun of old weather lore.
