Pittsburgh/Western PA WINTER ‘25/‘26

Pretty amazing run there from last night, but it's the GFS' unserious interpretation at 200+ hours.  If you show that under 48 hours with support, I'll get interested.

The long-term model depictions keep wanting to inflate the southern stream moisture involvement.  Thus far through winter we haven't really seen that, so it's hard to trust.

We'll have some rain transition to snow tonight with lingering bands, then another chance on Friday & Saturday for snow showers as an upper-level low passes overhead.

Looking at the short term models, the favored areas for possibly more than an inch through tomorrow are North Hills thru Butler Co, someone could see 2 or maybe 3 inches. Snow should start mixing in around 8pm west to east.

Here’s what the NWS is forecasting. 1-2” mostly, but 2-5” along & north of I-80. They do highlight that area as having the potential to see as much as 6-8” in spots due to lake bands. They also suggest the possibility of a band in the west with up to 3-5 inches possible should that occur.

Can sort of make out that one heavier band the NWS was concerned about possibly making it into eastern Ohio and perhaps parts of Washington County. Nothing too heavy in our immediate area otherwise. Lake enhancement certainly helping out around Cleveland and points east of there.

Picked up an inch overnight.  I am unable to load any pictures. I get error saying too large. Even if i make the image as small as possible. Anyone else get that?

Pretty strict size limits. I rarely post pictures, but for images I usually upload to imgur and then link.

You might be running low on storage, space. If you are doing the free version of the forum I think you get a max of 50mb. You might have to go back and delete stuff from older threads. A couple years ago I started doing the gold subscription for $25 a year, figured I should contribute something for the amount of time I spend on here plus I wanted the convenience of the extra storage space. I think you get a total of 200mb of storage for attachments with gold. But I have run into the same issue, if you are low on space your max upload size per post is whatever space you have left. Alternatively, you could do as climate changer said is host elsewhere and link in your post.

Thanks. That's probably what it is. It definitely says this file exceeds size limit.  55.899KB

I ended up with between a half and 1 inch when I left this morning, although a heavier band looked poised to swing through as I was leaving, so I'd hedge closer to 1in. From what I saw on the drive in that was pretty uniform, nowhere looked to have really gotten a lot more than any other.

Looks like the winds are shifting more WNW, so it will be interesting to see if any narrow bands setup today.

It's fairly intuitive but go to my attachments in the dropdown under your username in the top right, then you can sort by size, and it shows you the thread it is posted in, so you can decide if it's like 2 years ago if it's worth keeping it.
