You just might get that by Tuesday since the Euro has offshore flow and compressional warming right onto Long Island.

Oh this is wonderful, I want to see this even more than having a Cat 3 making landfall near JFK! I already got the 30 inch snowstorm so that's off my bucket list.... Is that a 107 near JFK? So look more at the signal than the model specifics. The chances are going up for at least 100° heat from Huntington to Commack if the flow stays offshore. Need to get within 24-72 hrs in order to know where the sea breeze front actually stalls out. But there is a chance someone in the usual warm spots like Queens and NJ range between 102°-105° before the heatwave ends. But still too soon to make that call for sure yet. This matches my experience here with offshore winds we are almost always hotter than the city. Even in the time before your siting issues surfaced, JFK reached 104 in July 1966, LGA 107, EWR 105, while NYC was only 103. It shows that being in a park does influence the temperature. winterwarlock
92 imby...incredibly my first 90 of the year! I just think Queens and Nassau (both north and south shore) are hotter than Manhattan on an offshore wind because a westerly wind comes off Hudson River
