Here in Ashland -Virginia Center Commons area tonight because of work. Just started lightly snowing consistently now.

Now instantly covering streets because of how cold it is -it's unbelievable

Radar filling ion nice.  Some heavy stuff out West.  Maybe  it’s just me but the rain snow line seems way down in North Carolina.

I rather have this as a base then freezing rain .. I’m personally not going to remove it now because of that.. & yeah the sleet line has been going back and forth for awhile now ..Honestly I think we already are mixing.. definitely not just pure snow..

Agree. Rather have this than freezing rain. Snow accumulated instantly so that part is good. Just small flakes

Just went and walked around the Ghent area in Norfolk. Grass not all the way covered but snow sticking on sidewalks and roadways. Maybe a dusting to 1/4'' at the moment. Hopefully we can eek out an inch before the sleet starts to mix in and then the rain comes to wash it all away.

Nice rates now.  1/2 inch to 3/4 inch but heaviest snow ❄️ of the evening.

I am not sure if it’s mixing or just the rate, but audibly loud falling, we get heavy snow so rarely, hard to tell.

Have about 1/2 inch here, 23 degrees. That sleet line is moving north fast on radar, unfortunately

Heavy snow on the Southside of Hampton Roads, Portsmouth closing in on an inch. Radar returns look very good

You want the small flakes if you don’t want it to turn over..Really big ones will mean it’s getting close to turn over most likely
