19-May-2019 Severe Event

Recommended Posts

There was a tornado warning in EPA earlier.  Now some SVR warned cells have set their sights on central Jersey.  Observations here.

Boy there is a lot of lightning overhead.

It looked like one of the cells had a short lived couplet just before crossing into NJ. The sheer is still there but not as intense. What are the chances that this makes it all the way to NYC?

In the general observation thread someone made a note of the seabreeze front being pushed back.  That may influence the propagation of these cells.

Are these storms verifying severe? Upton seems to be holding back

The line came through here with a 30mph gust and some rain so they made the right call it seems

Somewhat of a bow echo on this incoming line of storms. 85% humidity here in Brooklyn. I imagine we'll get a decent downpour, lightning, and strong wind gusts.

Mt. Holly had that warning in a strange area of Monmouth. It was all the way down by Belmar. Storms were no where close

That was anticlimactic. No lightning. Five minutes of rain.

All relative. NYC north and east has had some pretty good lightning strikes but mainly just heavy rain now

Missed us in Manhattan. Just a sprinkling, not enough to leave more than a few damp patches by daybreak.
