That was quite close to busting west of central Long Island til the last minute. Similar to December 2009 I remember people in here posting in the evening that the snow was done and wouldn't fill back in. Ended up with 10"

If that was 40 miles west, those 20+" totals in Suffolk would have been over NYC. Last 18" was 2/1/21. Only been 2 coastal storms to give us snow since March 2018: 2/1/21 and 1/29/22. Rest of our snow producers have been clippers, SWFE, or overrunning type events.

Ended up with 10" Yeah it looked done. My co-worker walked in at 6 and was really upset about his forecast from the evening prior thinking it was going to bust. Around 10pm he finally began to talk again lol, but it was dead silence til I finally said I think you're gonna be good

Then started slushy snow/sleet mix around 1 PM, and light snow through evening. Moderate snow around 9 pm or so, then heavy snow all night and wind gusts to 40 mph all night. Solid 12-13” blizzard over here. Only time in my life I’ve seen a rain to snow storm produce so much. There have been a few early season rain to snow storm, but usually only a few slushy inches here. This one was moderate rain to an all out blizzard. Amazing

Was there a blizzard warning for that one? I heard it was like a wet, heavy 20” of paste after quite a bit of rain. Heard it was a bit windy too

I ended up with 35 inches. 35 miles east of me in Danbury it rained much of the storm and I think they ended up with around a foot. NYC with 21 inches.
