This latest feeble attempt at a heat wave here in Chester County has not been strong -  last 3 days here and at KMQS - still only one 90+ reading this summer while PHL soars toward 20+ such days!

Heat Island FTW!!

19th - Chescowx 88.9 / KMQS - 89

20th - Chescowx  89.3 / KMQS - 89

21st - Chescowx 87.3 / KMQS - 87

The whole "heat wave" thing is crap. It has to be 90+ for 3 consecutive days. Ok, I would easily take 90 degree days w/a DP in the low 60s rather than days in the mid-upper 80s w/a DP in the low-mid 70s. But the days in the mid-upper 80s w/a DP in the low-mid 70s don't count as part of a heat wave even though they are way more uncomfortable. And for people like me it's more difficult to breathe. People aren't stupid and they know when it's hot. They don't need the local weather outlets creating drama saying "heat wave" over and over again. We get it...it's F'en hot!

86F high and liked the lower humidity

More humid tomorrow it might actually be a hotter feeling day. After that it appears we will successfully avoid any mega heat through the end of July.

The good stuff starts Tuesday....you may not reach 80.

WXSIM has rain by 6pm with heaviest around 7pm - really need the rain here in Chesco now 2.85" below our normal YTD precip. Township farmers have noted how dry we are. Good news is Wxsim shows 0.90" by midnight tonight and over 2.50" of rain with some measurable rain on 5 of the next 6 days...also of course no 90 degree days between now and the 31st.  Appears likely we will end July with zero 90 degree days in Chesco for the 3rd time in last 4 years!

I was watching 6abc (accu weather) this morning and they posted the 90 degree stats for Philly.

90+ degree days so far: 19 (today will be 20)

Predicted 90 degree days: 32

I  saw that and tweeted to Chris Sowers at ABC this AM - he replied that he knows this are is 660 ft + ASL and with no official reporting station. I corrected him that KMQS is part of the NWS hourly weather roundups and that station like here has only recorded one 90+ day this year.

Not sure if anyone else is on twitter but if so check out my feed and follow - thanks! Paul

Current temp here is 88F.  Actually got a bit warmer here today than yesterday (just barely hit 95F) probably because we didn't have the couple hours of overcast in the morning like we had yesterday.
