  1. the 00z 12k NAM is an event for the western burbs... and not even just on Weatherbell
  2. ^ I'm sure this is a useful product
  3. yeah, this one hurt a little bit. We got jipped pretty hard. Just heard a decent crack of thunder, at least. lol, a small cell just popped up overhead. I'll take the consolation prize.
  4. Maybe the cell south of Warrenton has a chance. Will eventually be moving into sunny areas where I’m assuming parameters have rebounded.
  5. Velocity. Everything should look red or green, pretty much.
  6. Slightly suspicious kink in the line west of Stephens City.
  7. hmmm... I probably would’ve continued that TOR warning in the northern suburbs of Baltimore. Rotation has weakened, though.
  8. Rotation W of Montclair, VA tightened up this frame
  9. Hard to tell but I think I see some rotation SSE of Paw Paw.
  10. never said I wasn’t a weenie!
  11. Brad Arnold seems to have it (Soso tornado) live: https://livestormchasing.com/map
  12. this is a crazy run for Central/Western VA. oh man
  13. now it’s 8 inches in CHO, haha. What a garbage model. CMC has got to be better at this point. ICON probably is too.
  14. hah, maybe I should be going down to Charlottesville to chase for three days. My poor off-Grounds house is just sitting there vacant... an enhanced, maybe moderate risk tomorrow? Then 6” of snow on the GFS Wednesday? Sign me up.
  15. Yeah, I tried to subtly make that point yesterday. This is a partisan issue. Had to write a whole paper about it for my News Media class. There isn’t really a way around it. That said, I prefer it when we keep it implicit and subtle! Makes the slight disses more fun.
  16. Yeah, the bigger profile might’ve made it tough. I enjoy a chilly jog, though. Going numb lessens the pain, lol.
  17. Today was the perfect jogging day. Going downhill at 20mph with the wind.
  18. Yeah, I've found it wild how much people are relying on delivery and takeout. I understand that it is essential that support be given to restaurants and I'm far from anti-restaurant, but any unnecessary contact is a risk that I'm not willing to take. While the virus material decreases significantly over time on these surfaces, the scientific consensus is that: "the COVID-19 virus can survive up to three days on plastic and stainless steel. It was detected on copper up to four hours, on cardboard up to 24 hours and it can also linger in tiny particles in the air for up to three hours." Hence, I'm avoiding anything that exposes me unnecessarily. I'll help my family wipe down the groceries, but getting a takeout dinner is an unnecessary risk. I love my local joints, but I'm not willing to risk it. I realize that handwashing and not touching your face resolve all these issues, but that requires everyone in the family to be diligent. And then there is the problem of the counters you place the food on, the car (as @supernovasky mentioned), etc.
  19. We can dodge the issue, but ultimately what people are debating is whether they think this virus is genuinely scary enough to shut things down for. Research has shown that opinions on the severity of the virus are a partisan issue, and ultimately that's unlikely to change. While I find this debate fun, we all know its not going anywhere!
  20. EPS went in the wrong direction with snow next Wednesday. It's over!!
