  1. Snow/sleet mix now. That was wild. I was expecting nada tonight. Fatties of both sleet and snow falling from the sky.
  2. Mixed sleet and fatties. So glad I stayed up.
  3. Wow, I’ve never seen anything like this. Absolutely driving sleet. Genuinely a new experience for me. Snowflakes mixed in.
  4. why can’t this ever be inbound when it’s actually snow oh well, 40 degree sleet is fun enough
  5. Ground immediately crunchy. Looking up hurts. Sleet dusted.
  6. Pouring sleet in Charlottesville. Gonna take a sleet jebwalk. Lost a degree in 10 minutes.
  7. welp, 40dbz band coming at me. Let’s see if this will be a sleet fest or just rain.
  8. It's actually a great run for CHO... which is probably a warning this run is off. It's 33/34 the whole time and verbatim we'd ride the R/S line hard. One more south shift would be fantastic.
  9. 42/30 in CHO. I'll keep diligent sleet obs.
  10. It’s even really close for CHO... verbatim it is 33 and rain but the way things have been trending I’m back in.
  11. Had to turn off notifications for the storm tomorrow. Don’t need to be reminded of missing out again.
  12. GFS is stronger with the coastal that develops out of tomorrow’s system. If I understand correctly that’s good news for this threat.
  13. It's also the first run in awhile to bring snowfall to Charlottesville (*ducks*) so I'm cheering for it. RGEM was also close.
  14. Wonder where @Snowchaser is now that it looks like CHO is in a solid position to miss out on the next couple of events? Jinxed it away from us.
  15. we’re gonna need it for our 5 sleet pellets Thursday night, sorry!
  16. I’ll enjoy my sleet showers. Got the curse of the weenie down here. As well as my personal typical snow shield. Jokes aside, accumulating sleet would be interesting. I still think it’s mostly a myth.
  17. FV3 was good too, especially for a certain city in Central Virginia. It’s all FRZA/ICEP to the south of there though, it’s not actually a uniform 1-3” across most of Virginia. edit: how did I not see the post about me. whatever. I’m keeping this one
  18. EURO hitting DCA hard at 132... surface temps above freezing though.
  19. I know I'm not the problem and I'm not excusing snowchaser clearly going over the top in only talking about storms when it kinda looks good for CHO but do remember that when I and others in "non-typical locations" analyze a run we have to give a qualifier about where we are talking about, which is something most people don't have to do. I can't just say "Pummeled at 96hr on the GFS" like people who reside in NOVA/DC/MD can, I have to caveat that with "Pummeled at 96hr in CHO & south on the GFS" which I think gives off a braggadocious vibe when it's not intended. Or I could be reading it wrong. That said, it's kind of how I used to read it when I lived in the center of the subforum's population, so I'm now gaining the perspective of the other side.
  20. Anyone else think CHO is poised to score on the next storm? Asking for a friend (me) who lives in CHO.
