Flakes mixing in around Gonzaga HS. Just want to Jebwalk to work around 9!
Flakes are losing the battle. Might need to wait for the second push of yellows. Least I can still record a T -

Family says it’s flipped to wet snow in NW Arlington. Waiting in downtown.

Nailed it!
Storm isn’t over
Also that’s a run from Jan. 19.
If the cities get measurable… I think hi-res have done OK. We’ll see -
This was game time for 2-3 per hour per all the models. Not 1 had a dry slot now
I don’t know if they had it totally “dry” but gameplan in the Beltway was always flip to heavy snow between 7-8am and see if you can pile anything up -
Dryslot snd flip with this push around 7am was very well modeled

Can we move to ban the 10:1 maps the rest of the nowcasting time for this storm? NorthArlington101 I'm lookin at you pal
I’ll only post good news -

Should note on the above HREF panels though, a good chunk of that improvement is due to the WRF-ARW and WRF-NSSL at 00z. They were QUITE aggressive with things... easily could be off on a crazy tangent.
You uh… wanna share the aggressive maps?- 1

I just went back and scanned the Jan 19 storm for old HRRR runs and it nailed it about 20hrs out. Just saying. Moco jackpot and all
that said it was awful on the first storm. So behind

HRRR is a beatdown between 7:30-10am. It'll dump snow, we'll get the rates, and we'll "boom" or it won't and we'll see snow TV. All in all a good day, hopefully?

The temps are gonna plummet with rates or not at all. We won't get one without the other.

snow depth again? smh. Making a meh run look worse than it needs to.
3k is slower to transition to snow than the RAP/HRRR/12k. It's a rates problem. Who knows which of the hi-res models will nail the banding. We'll find out in 12 hours
also, fwiw, 3k was probably an improvement from 18z. But both meh.

NAM is fine. We're OK. I only speak for the cities. MD/PA border may have lost some of the sexiest bands

00z RAP is back to spitting out 8” of snow with the new data lol.
We’re so back. NAMs are gonna smack us.- 2

Seriously though it's great to see.
I was 1000% sure the extra data would make things worse. Very pleasant surprise.
If DCA gets 1” out of this we’re a snow town. IDGAF what’s going on in the LR thread- 3

Can I call dibs on the early March window? I really like the 4th-7th. Mostly based off vibes.
