  1. Paul, are you sure 1989 didn't have snow on the ground at Christmas? In Delco we did, leftover from earlier snows, even though it was gone by New Years.
  2. Maybe they thought they got the maintenance-free models, lol. Good job on letting them sit for now.
  3. He's semi-selective, but you'll probably get one for this post, lol.
  4. Hey now, you're talking to the crazy couple who "shoveled" 500 feet of driveway last winter to get a 2 foot high pile of powder, from the 2nd biggest snowfall of the season, a whopping 1/2", lol. Also the only time we had snow stick to the driveway. Let's see if this winter brings enough for a larger snow pile!
  5. Never came down hard enough here for anything noticeable on the ground, but it's been nice to have the on and off light snow for most of the afternoon. Right now getting some star shaped snow pellets. Nice day!
  6. 1.14" storm total here. The pivot looked nice on the radar very early this morning.
  7. A dusting here as well, 1st of the season! Based on radar, looks like it fell roughly from 6 to 6:30 am. Currently 41F.
  8. Mostly just heavy rain here, up to 2.60" for the day, looks like we might be done with the worst of it. Currently 61F.
  9. Since we spend so much time outside here, I've been enjoying this weather. Lots of wood to split, and evenings testing the results with a kettle fire. One more blowing of leaves probably, maybe a mow to be sure it's less than 2" long so the snow lays on it nice, good stuff. I was fireside about as late as you were last night, lol. It's been seasonably warm for the most part but not over the top. Feels like a nice lead in to some snow in December, that's my mindset at the moment anyway.
  10. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone in here as well! And here's to some December snow this year!
  11. Just had a heavy shower with a rumble of thunder. 54F currently.
  12. Did you get stung? They last for about 6 hours (the pain part). I did that a few years ago, pushing a walk behind dethatcher over a nest. I ran across the front yard at a high rate of speed for 150 feet or so, but they did get me initially in 3 or 4 spots. They're actually pretty tolerant until you mess with their abode, and usually you don't realize you are until it's too late. Then they're like "okay, volunteers to get this guy outta here".
  13. ^27F here, thinking 24 give or take. Forecast low is 27, so we shall see.
  14. Not complaining here either, don't need more wood to cut up right now! Got about .22" of rain and it's calmed down a good bit.
  15. No lightning here but getting pretty windy with some green transformer flashes off to the west and north.
  16. Welcome back! Maybe you brought some snow with you...
  17. You'd have to spend a little bit, but what about a small (scalable perhaps) solar/battery system?
  18. 53F here and up to 0.51" of rain so far. In January this would be a nice snowy day (maybe!).
  19. Storm total here was 1.22", most of it Sunday night.
