  1. I've got a little accretion here, no excretion that I'm aware of. SW Delco btw.
  2. Lol, this thread is all over the map!
  3. It's about 10° higher now (36°) than on Dec. 22nd, which can make a difference on blacktop and other darker surfaces, even on cloudy days. I never stress over it, it's just a piece of reality. It is kind of classic (later) February to have highs in the 30's on a sunny day with snow rapidly melting on southern exposures, and then get accumulating snow that night or the next day. I've had a foot or more of granular snow in shaded areas late in the month, with grass showing in other sunny areas. Some of that is in fact due to sun angle, I believe.
  4. Nighttime is a different story though. Feb. 5th 2014 we had freezing rain between midnight and 8 am, all between 30-32F, and lost power for 3 days. Of course there was snow stuck to trees from a wet snow a couple of days before, which accelerated the process, but we did get about 3/8" of ice overnight.
  5. Weenie radar shows it snowing here, but alas...lol. Still holding out hope for sleet. Sounds like south of us they're getting more sleet under the heavier returns.
  6. Not to nitpick, but everything I've seen said afternoon/evening...
  7. Probably, especially given that there doesn't look to be much precip after midnight.
  8. Yeah, lol. I was just gathering data to post. Temp. here is 31F, dp all the way down at 12, so I was thinking virga for a while. However, we're actually getting very light rain with a few small sleet pellets mixed in. Wtf, lol, I was hoping for some solid precip to start at least. Guess that warm air aloft is real.
  9. Looks like precip gets up to SE PA latitude and pretty much slides off to the ENE. Right now the radar is looking juicy enough south of here. .1" of ice will be enough to make things slick, plus here it will do a number on the bamboo forest. I'd much prefer sleet, or snow obviously.
  10. Lol, I haven't watched him, what exactly is "puncturing in"? Sounds like a shot/needle, for example.
  11. Yeah, probably. Ideally you won't need it but better to be prepared. Not looking forward to freezing rain.
  12. 25 after the hour he'd give a nice explanation of what was going on with all the nuances. Great for winter weather events, especially pre-internet.
  13. Did you have a pair of glasses with windshield wipers?
  14. Lol. The cold duck episodes were in the 70's as well. It had an innards warming aspect that beer didn't, while being thirst quenching at the same time.
  15. Appropriately named! Reminded me of many years ago, playing ice hockey on frozen ponds and having a bottle of Cold Duck stuck in the snow for refreshment...ah yes, lol.
  16. No, although I did cover it with a tarp once during a warm rain a few years back. Winters like this are the best, where you can keep adding to it, while it does some settling etc. in between. I'm not sure but I think this month so far is the best snow pile stretch since 2013-2014. And it's only been a week and a half, lol. Hope there's more to come!
  17. Updated snow pile pic, it's not a lot higher (6.5 ft.), but it's becoming more massive. We're getting good at this, 1st time with everything all cleaned up and a kettle fire for a reward, all in the same day!
  18. Just saw a huge flock of Canadian geese heading south, for the second time in 3 days. Guess food is getting scarce up this way. Think my ewe bushes are going to get an early trim by the deer as well, lol.
  19. 3" on the nose here, currently 30F. Nice looking outside! That back edge did a good job of hanging in there for a while last night. Added bonus, it's all fluff!
  20. Just measured an inch, deer are out in the yard, beautiful outside! I'm leaning lower here based on the radar, thinking 2", open to more of course!
  21. It's at least moderate here, but the radar to the west is now looking a little less inspiring than it was.
