  1. Gotta wait another hour for the 12z.
  2. It's a good default/average. Lower with wet snow obviously, higher with colder temps and good snowgrowth conditions higher up. Wind will knock down the high ratios due to fracturing of dendrites.
  3. Still a decent amount of snowpack here, awesome setup for hopeful padding on Thursday!
  4. Don't know if you're familiar with the old flexible flyer sleds (metal runners), but those conditions were the best for sledding with those sleds!
  5. I took the reference to the para-euro as someone mispeaking, but maybe there is such a thing lol. I mean there could be, but not sure about publicly available. I am open to being enlightened.
  6. Congrats! Do you have a snow shovel down there? Make a big pile!
  7. I will second that motion, but if you want to wait a few hours that's okay. Euro (and all models actually) have been trending that way. You won't jinx it, lol.
  8. Only made it to 33F here, 35F currently, so I'm pretty skeptical down south here. However the dewpoint is 24 F so the temp. could easily drop a couple of degrees with any meaningful precip. falling. I think this applies strongly up your way, especially after sunset. Gotta play it by ear, but don't discount the possibility of sig. freezing rain early tonight, at least from this distance time-wise.
  9. Probably had something to do with this event on Feb. 23rd: Edit - Paul's house is probably under that dark blue dot, lol. I know I measured 18" in Delco.
  10. I'm thinking that was for December. Had about 7 days here, maybe 6. Ninja'd by Iceman!
  11. Good chance of you making it to 31 at least, even with the rain on Mon. nite/Tues. Does snow cover for you mean 100% coverage, or would you count 90% with some sunny south facing banks showing grass?
  12. Down to 27 here (from 31 earlier) with a little leftover light freezing rain. Enough to slide a couple feet on the driveway with a small running start, and a little bit noticeable on bushes, but the bamboo is hanging in there so far, knock on wood.
  13. Lol, it was kind of funny. Freezing rain is making people cranky I think.
  14. You could count Sunday evening's snow for January AND February and get more bang for your snowbuck. But I know what you mean.
  15. I've got a little accretion here, no excretion that I'm aware of. SW Delco btw.
  16. Lol, this thread is all over the map!
  17. It's about 10° higher now (36°) than on Dec. 22nd, which can make a difference on blacktop and other darker surfaces, even on cloudy days. I never stress over it, it's just a piece of reality. It is kind of classic (later) February to have highs in the 30's on a sunny day with snow rapidly melting on southern exposures, and then get accumulating snow that night or the next day. I've had a foot or more of granular snow in shaded areas late in the month, with grass showing in other sunny areas. Some of that is in fact due to sun angle, I believe.
  18. Nighttime is a different story though. Feb. 5th 2014 we had freezing rain between midnight and 8 am, all between 30-32F, and lost power for 3 days. Of course there was snow stuck to trees from a wet snow a couple of days before, which accelerated the process, but we did get about 3/8" of ice overnight.
  19. Weenie radar shows it snowing here, but alas...lol. Still holding out hope for sleet. Sounds like south of us they're getting more sleet under the heavier returns.
  20. Not to nitpick, but everything I've seen said afternoon/evening...
  21. Probably, especially given that there doesn't look to be much precip after midnight.
  22. Yeah, lol. I was just gathering data to post. Temp. here is 31F, dp all the way down at 12, so I was thinking virga for a while. However, we're actually getting very light rain with a few small sleet pellets mixed in. Wtf, lol, I was hoping for some solid precip to start at least. Guess that warm air aloft is real.
  23. Looks like precip gets up to SE PA latitude and pretty much slides off to the ENE. Right now the radar is looking juicy enough south of here. .1" of ice will be enough to make things slick, plus here it will do a number on the bamboo forest. I'd much prefer sleet, or snow obviously.
