Dude, unless I got ebola or something no sickness is gonna keep me from hiking around in a true blizzard.
Also, I'll trade you your young joints and tendons for my 2016 blizzard experience lol.
You'll get your chance, just gotta bide your time. Too bad you missed 09-10.
100%. I had a legit case of the flu during the 16 blizzard and still when out every few hours just to feel the fury. Biggest snow I have ever witnessed but felt like arse.- 2

If anything, Ian has left the beaches of NJ south to the outer banks vulnerable as we head deeper into Fall. Some of the beach erosion in NJ has been pretty bad.

Round 16 inbound here.
Looks like some lightning in those cells heading west! Maybe the heaviest batch of the event for the eastern folks.

Some wild radar returns and and motions over the past 24 hours. Radar looks like the sky is tearing apart over the eastern shore and DE right now.
.91" since 7am this morning. 2.17" total so far.

You could slather roadkill with cream cheese frosting and it would be delicious.

Should we be routing for a FL traverse and secondary landfall? Seems those runs are the only ones that give us a widespread impactful event. I guess the H to the north could trend weaker but that hasn't been the case over the past 48hr.

Ugh, just a matter of time before we are inundated here.
I live about 15 miles south of that location...as a crow flies. I've yet to see one. But I agree that its just a matter of time. Its too bad they have the potential to be so destructive. They're pretty cool looking bugs that don't stink, sting or bite. They just land on you and hang out for bit before taking off. Probably had 20-30 land on me over the two hours I sat there.

I'll take 2 more months of todays. Perfect weather for just about anything outdoors.
At a soccer game near Hagerstown earlier and these suckers were everywhere.- 2

Yea. Probably a NC scraper then off Cape Cod. Maybe we'll get lucky with this one.
Usually we need a shotgun season to have a chance at scraps. Most likely wishful thinking on my part. I do love tropical rains...probably more than any prospect of wind. A good PRE followed by a rain core and some 40-60 gusts. One can dream.

Fiona missing us is going to sting. Desperate for real tropical here.
I know its a stretch but the ingredients are there. If the trend is for a weaker/slower Fiona that allows the ridge to build over top....and a wild card trough interaction on table. Im desperate too...lets see what 00z has to offer.

No doubt these are very efficient rainers....torrential right now.

This thread has actually been a joy to read and follow. The lack of condescending undertones has been pretty refreshing. But we all knew that wouldn't last long.

Tropical threads are great. Especially with write-ups like that! Never really gets cantankerous in here, just level headed discussion on potential or lack thereof. Why does snow make people weird?

That is best tackled by supporting the trunk to the left (only to make it easier for buck cuts) and cut near the base and let the root ball swing to the right of your kerf. Make sure the ground has had time to dry up so you have good footing!
I hear ya and sounds reasonable. To be honest, the more I look at this thing the more I see myself getting the catapult into the neighbors yard! Lol. We have friends that have a tree removal business. I may leave this one to the professionals.- 2

A pretty wild scene here yesterday. Just under 2" but just a mile or two south had to be close to 4".
On the deck watching the creek rage and started hearing loud snaps. Saw the top of a massive sycamore start to shake and called the family out. Finally, a loud crack and we watched the tree crash.
Im pretty proficient with a chainsaw but the rootball on this tree makes me nervous. At some point it is going to want to stand back up and I sure as hell don't want to be standing beside the tree when that happens. The pic doesn't do justice. Rootball is about 20' wide and 12' tall.

Absolutely torrential. Well over an inch so far I would guess. Minimal wind but tons of thunder and lightning.
