  1. I'm getting old. There was a time I'd roll out of bed in the middle of the night to watch the 0Z Euro roll in. Of course, this was back in the day when the Euro was a lot more stable than it seems today. I guess after years of tracking, my heart just isn't in it like it once was. Not saying I don't track, but I'm not as invested as I was 10-15 years ago.
  2. Saw a report this morning: since Dec 1, DC has had more snow than Philly, NYC and Boston combined.
  3. Looking like 0.5" for the day. Pleasantly surprised as I thought this would be a miss to the south (or a virga fest at the very least). Still have some tiny flakes drifting down, 20F.
  4. Steady light snow now with a fresh dusting on untreated surfaces, 17F.
  5. Surprised--thought I might be a little too far north today but pixie dust is coming down, 15F.
  6. Don't worry, they'll pick right up again -- howling out of the west now. Seeing some filtered sun, 24F. This winter might suck, but that was awesome!
  7. Winding down here now, probably picked up a 1/2 inch. Temp down to 26F. Also sorry to hear about the accident. I imagine there will be plenty of fender benders around the region this afternoon, hopefully nothing more serious than that.
  8. Heavy snow, vis under 1/4 mile, temp down to 28F. Winds have let up, I'm sure the pick up from the west soon. Everything covered again.
  9. 31F so far, winds are really starting to pick up. Dark clouds off the the west, just like a summertime t-storm.
  10. Temp up to 28F. The line of snow squalls looks a bit broken up atm. Hopefully it regenerates as it approaches the coastal plain.
  11. 28F at midnight, an overnight low of 16F, now up to 17F. Picked up about an inch yesterday. Curious to see today's temps before & after the front.
  12. I went from rain, to snow, to the ground being covered in a matter of 10 minutes! Mod snow now, 35F.
  13. Yep, no sooner than I posted that wet flakes started to mix in, 36F.
  14. Seeing a couple of flurries here too. Sticking with my .75" call for now.
  15. .75" per event seems to be the magic number imby since the Nov blizzard, so that's where my bar is set for tomorrow.
  16. Thanks for trying to cheer us up, Kamu. Among the differences from last year, we had some decent snow events in Dec 2017 -- nothing epic, but several inches to remind you what season it was. Since the Nov snow this year, I've only received 2" since.
  17. "What happens in December, the winter will remember", an interweb met used to say.
  18. Made it to 57F today, now down to 47F. Getting a few peeks of sun.
  19. I'll make a deal with mother nature -- I'll sign on for a mild, snowless winter if she'll stop the rain. Seems my sump pumps have been running non-stop since last spring.
  20. That line just rolled through here. Heavy rains, but not much else -- even the winds were calm.
