    Yup, kind of sad. This has a lot working against it. Kicker lows, and more importantly, it kind of is an occluded mess one it gets here. If there is a storm, I think the best is in the mid Atlantic and we are fighting for shredded scraps here. I think the desperation is getting to normally level headed people.

    I’m not sure this is necessarily true lol. If we miss that 15-20th period, the final third of the month has hinted at warming up, or at minimum, riding the boundary. It can always get worse lol

    I think it’s a completely reasonable position to say that we need something out of the 16th or 18th. if we whiff on both those chances, you are really starting to rely on some truly slim possibilities to a path to normal snow

    That’s how I feel. I’m trying to be more positive but I’m not taking the cheese on any of this until something legit is literally on the doorstep. We’ve been burned way to much recently. And there are still elements that have screwed us over the last half decade ( fast flow, poor wave spacing) present in this upcoming look. Im not saying it won’t happen, I’m just saying it’s hard to take a cheery position

    Nice run for Myrtle beach on the 16th. Way wide right up here. I’m pretty much writing that one off, you’re going to need pretty wholesale changes to get a configuration that will drag that close enough to be interesting.

    Going to have to hope something speeds up or slows down, because if not, we’ll all end up with very little. Wave spacing issues have been a consistent them for close to a decade now, and it’s often sunk any decent hemispheric patterns we’ve had, especially over the last 5-6 years

    Less than an inch of snow for almost all of SNE outside of Northern Worcester county and the Berks through 384 hours on the 12z gfs run. Even in bad years, not sure I’ve ever seen a run so devoid of winter weather in the peak of winter.

    How can anything in mid January, with most people below normal for snow, be considered pure gravy? IMO, we are wasting peak climo snow season for many currently. if we have any shot at anything resembling a normal season, we need changes soon, and not just back to cold temps and 1/2” clippers

    Well, whenever people (rightfully) point out that we squandered a pretty anomalous cold December, people jump in to tell us how 3 towns in SW CT are above normal for snowfall. Ill tell you this though, they won’t be two weeks from now

    I think it’s a little different. Yes you guys didn’t get the historic snow, but it was still well above average, I think that sometimes gets lost in the shuffle

    I mean, I might start pushing if I have to hear how great this winter has been in CT one more time. We get it, there was a good storm there. Apparently that’s going to play for the rest of the winter

    Ray is right, it’s palatable through the holidays, but instantly becomes miserable now. Give me a shot at some bigger systems, or flood the northeast with warmth. And yes, before the fangs come out, I know it’s been half decent in CT lol
