  1. My nieces were in Vienna for the Taylor Swift concert. I’m sad they missed it but I’m glad that didn’t become something tragic.
  2. Hiked about 6 miles along the Nova Scotia coast today. Lovely day, partly cloudy and around 20°C.
  3. There were lots of shenanigans going on the past few days. possibly a lot of pool trading to try and unwind the carry trade glut.
  4. Don’t miss Rancid! They probably go on first.
  5. The big sale may not have started yet…
  6. There are circuit breakers in place. It can only fall so far before trading is halted. After all, they can’t let a $200 trillion dollar derivatives market unwind…
  7. We went to the Sea Dog brewery on our way through Bangor today and caught their sound check!
  8. Currently 64° with a breeze on the waterfront in Saint John NB. Hoodie on and loving the change of pace!
  9. Did any of the 4 major SNE sites have an official heat wave this week?
  10. N Conway to Crawford Notch area of NH would be toast also. They don’t handle prodigious rain well.
  11. More likely outcome. This goes east.
  12. Don't you think it would be moving a little bit too fast to drop those totals? That's Irene type rains for W MA.
  13. Savannah to Charleston drowning on that run.
  14. I'll be in Atlantic Canada so will keep one eye open for this.
  15. A lot of these cells in W MA are weakening as they move north east.
  16. I’ll be in Atlantic Canada for first half of the month, maybe get a Juan redux.
  17. I was a kid in Falmouth (Buzzards Bay) for Belle and it was pretty disappointing.
  18. Ideal to me would be having the 40” spread across several 4-6” storms and one big dog.
  19. Somethings going on with some of the maples around here. Already seeing leaf color on 5 to 10%.
  20. No winds and only moderate rain but some tremendous thunder and lightning the past 10 minutes.
  21. Tolland now has a climate like the Big Island of Hawaii.
  22. In my experience they seem to cause a lot less damage than maples and oaks in severe events. White pines seem to snap halfway up when the big deciduous trees come down completely. I mean, I guess you could argue why would an insurance company insure anybody with any trees near their house or that live by the ocean or that live by a stream etc..?
  23. Not from the humidity, the heat has been pretty manageable.
