I have good friends renting a water front house in Wading River New York (LI) who have decided to ride it out.

Despite rainfall and saturated ground I think most tree damage is CT/RI. Small windfield and winds are going to decrease pretty quickly as this moves N.

I don't remember where Irene made landfall or if it was even still a hurricane? I just remember WNE getting drowned. I've never seen anything like it on the local rivers.

Still going to be a roller coaster but the next few months should present some rewards.
