    Poet’s Seat Tower in Greenfield is a great spot to watch severe roll in. You can drive right up the hill to the tower so it’s very accessible on short notice and the views are killer looking West.

    I was still in Boston then but I think I remember Will telling me, at a GTG, that storm had an ideal 700mb low track for the CRV.

    Yup. We surrounded by big white pines and with some fine local river swimming, it doesn't make sense to mess with a pool. Just like with XC skiing, pool recreation has good years and bad years.

    I've been fortunate enough with timing to have had 6 or 7 sightings in the past 10 years. In the spring we had a juvenile in our yard two mornings in a row. Fun to watch.

    I was in a supermarket parking lot in Sarasota Florida, about 20 years ago and this group of teenagers, walked up to me and asked, “are you the singer from the Spin Doctors?” My GF laughed and I just kind of stared at them with a furrowed brow.

    One of my favorite parts about the NFL season is that supermarkets are empty on Sunday evening. Easy in, easy out.

    You know. Weather extremes are fun for the hobbyist but there are a lot of folks getting hurt by it. I have a lot of friends who rely on non-anomalous weather for their livelihood.

    I'm friends with several commercial farmers in W MA and they all are taking a hit this summer. Sucks. Terrible weather for hops and hemp harvests too.

    As @STILL N OF PIKE mentioned, news organizations are not legally obliged to run truthful stories. I take most reporting with a grain of salt unless I can find multiple sources. Twitter is not a complete cesspool in so much as there are still some real journalists making on the ground reports.

    It’s big whales pulling the rug and liquidating the overleveraged traders. They then swoop right in and pick up the bargain crypto‘s as prices resume the upward trajectory. i’ve watched it over and over again the past few years. As always though, it’s timing that bottom and getting in at the nadir to reap the rewards on the way back up.

    Yikes! Yeah, I may just spend a few grand maintenance on the older vehicles we have. Mechanics are really busy right now too... ps: I moved my original post to the banter thread if anyone else has more to say or a mod can move these replies.
