    Major Boy Scout event at Camp Moses in Westfield Saturday with some Troops slated to camp Friday night. I'm assuming they cancel the camping but hopefully the entire event is postponed. All day in that cold is too much when you are starting the morning below zero.

    Yeah, I was thinking about that earlier. People are going to be caught off guard by the combination of wind and cold coming out of work etc Friday. Out for a few drinks or dinner after work and then walking out into ULLR's wrath.

    Have you had any predator birds move into the neighborhood? Hawks, Owls? Maybe coyotes are getting them.

    They are doing just fine in my yard. I have families of both gray squirrels and black squirrels.

    My BOX forecast for Friday night went from -9 to -10 but Saturday went from high of 10 up to a high of 15.

    Yeah, a 24 hour cold shot where Hartford may not get below zero is less than epic. Still, there will be some impressive temperatures in NNE.

    I have found that -6 and below is more ideal for doing the freeze hot water trick. So there’s that.

    Mixed drinks are three dollars at the local Elks club so it wouldn’t cost much to erase this cold snap from memory.

    Dave does. I think he’s over 35” now. The hills of N ORH county are another world from most of us. They get more snow than the Berkshires.

    Oh, my driveway is bare and dry. Elevation dependent? You are probably close to average snowfall at your house despite the crap winter. Lol

    Snow surprises are always nice.

    Most models have been pretty bullish on the cold so I think everybody, away from the RI/CT coast and Cape Cod, sees zero or below.

    After a relatively mild winter this will catch the homeless population off guard. Not good.

    My p/c forecast said low of 4F Saturday night. If we hit 50 Sunday that will be impressive turnaround.

    Might get blocking and cut off lows in April.

    Relatively cold overnight temperatures this week with -10’s Friday night and single digits Saturday night, should set up epic pond skating for Sunday!

    I think people need to psychologically prepare themselves for a cool crappy spring. I also think there will be more snow chances for all SNE.
