I think that phenomena is pretty much in play most of the winter. Dec 15 to Jan 15 aob climo is pretty much the only time SNE doesn’t have snow melting on a sunny day.
It was interesting because when I looked at my flight tracker app, there were still lots of international and private flights in the US airspace but not so much for domestic flights.
I believe Attitash base elevation is even lower. My friends live five minutes from there and they said there are a lot of brown patches on the lower trails.
Hopefully they all net gain even if it turns wet for a bit.
I drove through Savoy pass this morning at 2000’ and it’s only 2-3” there. That’s one of the snowiest places in Massachusetts. Crazy to have that scant of a cover there at this time of year.
As has been discussed, they are trying to force as many folks as possible to get season passes.
you really need to just plan dates and buy your tickets weeks in advance these days.
I miss the days when there used to be all sorts of cheap promo tickets floating around on craigslist etc.
Hopefully next weekend turns around, at least for NNE. We were supposed to go see friends in North Conway next weekend but we might switch it out to presidents weekend pending model trends.
