  1. Didn’t even have chance of rain in the forecast today yet it is raining. We have had precipitation 10 out of the past 12 days.
  2. It is also a huge environmental disaster. There will be thousands of tons of waste and refuse that needs to be dealt with plus all of the toxins that were washed into the rivers and waterways and deposited elsewhere.
  3. I filmed this around noon time. Still wasn’t quite at peak flow. Watch until the end and you’ll see the power of the water coming through the open floodgates.
  4. On your way back park at the discovery center in Turners Falls and walk down to see the floodgates on the Dam. Pretty spectacular.
  5. Connecticut River below the Turners Falls Dam.
  6. At least we got three or four good days in!
  7. Terrible! Such a nice little city, I haven’t been there in years but have many fond memories.
  8. That is going to affect the Deerfield and Green River's down here. I may go to work late tomorrow to (safely) chase some high water photos.
  9. Oh no. Rt 2 is notorious for accidents. I am so aware when driving that road.
  10. crazy! I almost drove out there but didn’t think they needed any more traffic with that situation.
  11. Should be fine. They will throw in a little backfill and fix it up tomorrow.
  12. Some of those roads are going to take weeks to repair and many of them are main thoroughfares.
  13. Wow, over 2 inches in Greenfield. Most of that fell from 6AM to 10 AM
  14. I think the situation in Vermont is going to become dire. We’re looking at several more inches of rain being dumped on areas that are already experiencing flash flooding.
  15. We’ve had close to 2 inches in Greenfield since yesterday.
  16. I said your house would probably be fine because you up on the hill. Of course I said that not knowing how close you were to any streams.
  17. Both houses will be fine. The roads leading to the VT domicile might be compromised though.
  18. Both of those scenarios will have rivers running strong here. Herps is a lot of water draining south over saturated soil.
  19. Good luck man! I live in a house safe from rapid water rise but the potential for heartache from water exists everywhere in WNE. The rivers around here (Deerfield R, Green R, Cold R) are very susceptible to heavy rains in S VT but fortunately it looks like that bullet is dodged. Our town swimming area, is a dammed section on the Green River and it has already been closed 8 days since June due to high/rapid water.
  20. Jeezuz, GFS is just a parade of humidity. Mold and fungus FTW, pleasant summer weather is not in the forecast for WNE.
  21. Depends on how much of a good ol' boy network the town is tied into. I've seen shit go sour for folks in some of the hill towns around here because they were "outsiders".
  22. NW CT looks to have heavier showers developing again. SW NH getting a reprieve for now.
  23. Flash flood warnings up in the Keene area. Rt 10 that runs from Northfield MA into NH is already impassable in Winchester NH.
