  1. Yeah, that seems about right...a drug. I don't really have an issue with the storm chasing overall except for as you mention, when you put your self in danger, or anyone else. I do get a bit turned off when I see him say that he "hitched a ride with a military chopper". There must have been more to this than the nonchalant way it sounds. Military helicopters don't just let people jump on board. Also, why not get trained in some type of medical care and do more after these storms rip through? My guess is that Josh wants zero to do with the aftermath and the possibility of being stuck somewhere for days, and weeks without modern amenities, with filthy, hungry people all around him. ... A few days, maybe, but he really want out as quick as possible. I guess I would get trained to do more and try to help if I could. But, this is his thing, and he does it the way he wants, and does not care if he pisses people off along the way as is his right as long as he does not get in the way of rescue efforts.
  2. ...Ran into this today. Almost 81 years ago. The hurricane of 38 was pretty much the topic of every headline on the front page.
  3. People really laying into Josh in the comment section. https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2019/09/04/storm-chaser-went-silent-dorian-hit-bahamas-he-re-emerged-with-harrowing-story/?fbclid=IwAR0RWxC0xgav69gyRWNQLDVT1yGI2ypFgSDp-gLW1oklDmOvoqlR_MlStIA
  4. The worlds greatest weather hype machine is out: https://www.foxnews.com/us/farmers-almanac-winter-snow-cold-frigid-temperatures# Copious amounts of something coming our way.
  5. hmmm. Fall or non-dry and cool...Which way should I lean? Choices, choices, choices.
  6. If this is true, it is the funniest, and most weenie-ish thing I've ever read.
  7. Crazy. 15 here. I wish I was awake to see the heavy hotties falling in the middle of the night.
  8. We shall dub this one, The Scooter Melt Storm. At the end of last week Scott was just about fed up and ready to jump off the Tobin ...again. This one was truly redeeming indeed. 3 on Saturday, and 15+today. Unreal.
  9. This will be dubbed the Scooter Meltdown storm of 2019. Any updates on start time? Jerry mentioned around Dawn tomorrow. Is this still a good time frame to keep in mind?
  10. They closed the Brooklyn golf course 2 years ago. Now it is just an overgrown field.
  11. My 19.5 was right near that 21.1. I should have given you that number.
  12. 19.5 total for me (including the final burst last night) but I do think me and you shorted ourselves by an inch or 2. I measured 19" @ 5pm. My first and only measurement of the day. No board clearing.
  13. lol. He actually said that in a live statement, pointing you out?
  14. 13.5" Brooklyn. Not my measurement but measurement from my daughter. I have taught her not to be a slant sticker but she could be off. Edit: 13.75
  15. Wow. First I've seen a radar image today. Looks like Brooklyn was getting pounded. But here in Manchester, just near Hartford I can definitely see how we were in that area of weakness.
  16. Just a real fine snow here. Visibility is not the best, but the snow is just not amounting to much.
  17. Really not much here at work (Manchester). Maybe an inch or 2 if that. Hopefully it's piling up better back in Brooklyn. I have not checked with my source there yet.
  18. Snow growth not too great here at work in Manchester, but was pretty good in Brooklyn, 40 miles east. Definitely a different scene back home.
  19. I was under the impression this was going to be a dry snow. Sh*t is wet and heavy. 34F right now.
  20. Brought back to life for the Codfishsnowman.
