  2. I (along with probably 75% of the posters) have the set lol.
  3. 1.36 for the day, 5.70 now for the month. JUST missed another 'warm minimum' record, low was 39.1, record 40 from 1991.
  4. I'm further west and south, so missed some of the craziness, but this is what I got those couple of weeks
  5. Record high and 'warm minimum', high was 68.6, beating 2012 and 1981's 62 degrees. Low was 40.2 beating 2012's 36.8 degree reading. 42.3/39.0 under partly cloudy skies at 10 am.
  6. Well, this won't come to pass, down to 48.9 degrees at 8:50 pm. DID set a new record high, 68.6 degrees, old was 62 degrees from both 1981 and 2012.
  7. Digging thru the record books, I see 4, yes 4 only times I've had a +50 low in January. Jan 15, 1995 (54 degrees), Jan 5, 2004 (55.7 degrees), Jan 5,2005 (53.6 degrees), and Jan 12,2020 at 51.2 degrees. Today will make another as low at 7 am was 50.7 degrees (borrowing a miracle). My records go back to Oct 1979.
  8. LOL, come to poppa! I'd say this has about 0.0001% chance of happening, but there's that 1......
  9. Legendary as a 31/51 day in July.
  10. Me and my big mouth.... So, crossed 50 around 2 pm yesterday, been ABOVE it since. High was 55.3 degrees. Currently 50.7/49.8 and foggy. Sheesh. EDIT- the 43.0 degree 7 am reading yesterday shattered the previous 'warm minimum' for the date, old was 38 degrees from 1989. Not sure why I didn't check until now. I see more records coming.
  11. DCA come down and place their thermometer for them yesterday?
  12. Just glanced at my monthly stats, I've been +50 degrees for 2 hours this entire month to current, that was on the 12th with a 50.9 high. According to NWS Blacksburg I should cross 50 today with a forecasted 58 high, but they failed badly yesterday with a 53 forecasted and an actual of 44.7. We shall see.
  13. made me 'check' lol. I have 2 -35's, both in Jan. First was 1/21/85 with a 8 high and -19 low. Second was 1/19/94 with a 9 high and -17 low. That week (1/15-1/22/94) was MOST impressive, I ran a -25 average thru that period with 6 out of seven nights below zero. EDIT, missed at least one. Christmas Day 1983, -35 avg, 9 high, -10 low.
  14. I must be living the 'sheltered' life. I see LOTS of 50's thru almost 70 for yesterday. I was stuck in low 40's all day with very thick fog and drizzle! Currently fog and drizzle (as last almost 24 hours) and 43.0/41.9. My high for past 24 hours was 44.7. I checked, both Covington CO-ops in low/mid 40's along with White Sulphur Springs and Lewisburg in WV for their high. Strange.
  15. So after a week plus of being basically UNDER 32 degrees last night I barely went under 32 lol. Now 37.7/35.0 and cloudy, was quite foggy earlier this morning.
  16. *Takes quick glance at stats* So, Newark is about 50/50 BWI to PHL, BWI seasonal average to date is 6.9 and PHL is 8.0, so I'll go 7. If you are at 8, then you ARE running above average. Would we ALL like to have more? You bet! But saying this past week wasn't good and a relief to many snow starved folks is a bit much. You missed a few (and most important) words in my comment.... just saying. You are AHEAD of average ATM, enjoy!
  17. Got the remaining Christmas lights and decorations down this afternoon. Sorta fun to do with a little snow still on the ground
  18. *Takes quick glance at stats* So, Newark is about 50/50 BWI to PHL, BWI seasonal average to date is 6.9 and PHL is 8.0, so I'll go 7. If you are at 8, then you ARE running above average. 19. Well, no matter what happens the rest of the winter, this PAST week has been nice. Snow cover a week plus with temps running a solid -10. It was 23.5 here this morning for the low, currently cloudy and 39.4/19.9 at 12:15 pm.
  20. LOL, that was EXACTLY my first thought when I saw that post!
  21. Back to an even freezing at 6:30 after a 42.3 high. Currently 32.0/16.5. Lost about 1/2 the snow today, bare ground in spots facing south and open, about 3-4 inches in 'drifted' areas shaded.
  22. Just gonna throw my 0.02 in here. Not sure about NWS Sterling, but Blacksburg made a BIG push for CoCoRaHS folks and trained spotters to please send in snow reports, especially if using snowboards, sending emails out to folks. WHY would the Dept Of Highways suddenly be the 'source' for reports if that is the case? I've never seen a snowboard placed next to a road or highway, or seen a state truck stop and take a measurement, just saying.
  23. Low was 7.3 degrees around 3 am, now 9.9/3.8 at 8 am.
