  1. I think Fella in Brookline wins this round at 37"
  2. It snowed, but the 0:1 ratios held the accums down.
  3. Although, the idea of that Cali low retrograding into the Pac is worth keeping an eye on.
  4. Well, you sent me to the Google for that one!
  5. The tic between 12z and 18z pretty sizeable. The whole operation is more sheared, with the trough more positively tilted, we need one more like that...or does that make the damn thing too weak to draw the cold air? No winning this year.
  6. The end of the NAM seems to make the next storm a bit more of a nuke when it reaches the GOM. Better confluence for the next CT rainer?
  7. What year was the tuck-rule game? I believe that was our only accumulating snow in SWCT. A major rat winter.
  8. I recall two 3" sleet storms that year. And I'll tell you, 3" of sleet is as much of a winter driving/shoveling problem as 12" of snow...maybe more so!
  9. It's funny, but one of my closest friends growing up had grandparents in Webster. I learned some good Yiddish from them. One phrase in particular sticks in my mind...I will probably butcher this, but....."halt deinen mund du Trottl du!"
  10. Schmuck and Putz are good ones too...I hope she didn't direct those at you!
  11. This map is not from February 2013 (of course, it won't be for January 23 either):
  12. Well, the euro day 10 looks promising for day 12 or so. It's all I got down here: Back when JB was a real meteorologist he would point out the trough to the east of Hawaii as key:
  13. Sitting in the spectator seats...this was a hell of a storm on satellite and radar. Looking out the window probably ruined it.
  14. For us southerners we will need great sewing skill...like threading the needle one handed!
  15. What is your surface wind direction? The flakes might be forming overhead, but blowing to your S or SE.
  16. I'm not familiar with the initials CFS? It's the same ting as the GEFS?
  17. You don't see this too often.....coast-to-coast. Actually, the 850s look good throughout the 10-15. Good spot for a baroclinic boundary too.
