  1. I wouldn't say it's a mystery. It could be as simple as that community wearing masks and following guidelines more than others if they aren't vaccinated which would be keeping their numbers down. Also 1/3 of the country being vaccinated does help tons of communities even if those vaccinated people all aren't in one spot together since it means there's less people the virus can jump to and continue spreading so it limits how far it can travel compared to previously.
  2. I haven't heard about it but if it's the johnson&johnson vaccine that's because it's only 66% effective and that's after a certain amount of time has passed. Honestly if any of you get a vaccine I'd stay away from that one lol. The moderna and pfizer mrna vaccines are over 90% effective and apparently less side effects from what I've seen. My friend and grandpa got it a while ago and basically had no issues except my friend having a slightly sore arm I also wouldn't trust J&J considering they knowingly had cancer causing materials in their baby powder for decades and didn't do anything until recently being sued. There's a reason the original formula has been banned in other countries for decades lol Forgot I should add you can catch covid with being vaccinated but as long as you're asymptomatic there's a low chance you'll spread it to other people. So it's honestly not that bad but I've been pretty vocal about my feelings on the J&J vaccine elsewhere especially after the blood clotting stuff in 6 women. But apparently that seems linked to a birth control medication which would make sense why all of them were women.
  3. It wasn't windy out earlier when I was out but I noticed once it got cloudy out it picked up. Looks like there's some light rain on the radar nearby too
  4. I'm not too far...really doubt we'll see any snow but then again I didn't think we were gonna see that huge snow squall at this time last year either. Either way it's crazy the heavy snow that's been falling up north
  5. I was afraid it was gonna feel chilly today but it's already really nice out in the sun. I always forget how strong the sun angle is at this time of year when there's cooler temps
  6. Tomorrow is gonna feel hot. Even today was hot enough in the sun for me
  7. Not really looking forward to the high winds later today. Last night was already windy enough
  8. Definitely could get close to tying records tomorrow. Been seeing a lot of temps between 85-88 for tomorrow
  9. Yeah same here. There's not that very many years I can remember seeing snow falling this late over here. Besides last year lol
  10. I almost forgot about how awful last years winter was lmao
  11. It was actually flurrying here for a little bit. Pretty shocked this is the 2nd year in a row where we'd had snow fall extremely late in the year. I can't really remember any year in recent memory besides the snow squall in early may last year where we've had snow this late. I'm guessing it's probably happened a lot in the past but I've been so used to how warm it's been the past 2 decades that it seems weird when it does snow this late. Also interesting is we've still yet to hit 80 degrees in harrisburg this year. Just about every year this past decade I remember seeing multiple days hitting 80+ in feb/mar/apr
  12. the power flickered here and the street lights got knocked out for a bit but thankfully didn't lose power
  13. was coming in here to say the same thing. haven't seen anything this bad since spring or summer of last year
  14. I was not expecting storms this powerful. That wind is nuts out there right now
  15. Yeah I don't even bother with facebook now. It just ends up rotting your brain and it's better for your mental health to take a break from it every now and then. It's good to have an avenue to keep in contact with friends and family but it's good to not let it consume you lol
  16. I wish people weren't so headstrong or ignorant about these things. It's like you try and tell them something you know to be true but nothing convinces them and then they still get mad when their plants die lol you can't believe everything your friends post on social media
  17. It got really cloudy and you can see the rainclouds around harrisburg...it wasn't supposed to rain until late tonight/early morning. no rain yet but it's pretty close
  18. 79 here now...completely smashed the record of 70 in 2009
  19. 66 here currently...i think it was 68 yesterday but that didn't happen until 5 pm
  20. That snow squall in may last year was absolutely crazy. I had to go out to drive and drove into whiteout conditions. The mountains were almost impossible to see. It was the most surreal thing to see in may and I doubt I'll ever forget it
  21. it looks like the temps might break some record highs potentially. thursday here it'll be 73 which breaks the record high of 70 in 2009. should feel nice if you like the warmth lol
  22. i've been thinking the same thing too the past couple years. my parents have said the same thing surprisingly. they don't remember it being windy like this so often and they've lived in the area for 60 years lol
  23. with the way mine was blowing i thought the same was gonna happen. hope you get yours back soon. that sucks
  24. front yard was flooded out today because of all the rain and the ground saturated from the melted snowpack the past few days. haven't seen it that flooded since summer rains from 2019 since it didn't even rain last year lol
