    I took a look at the top 10 snowstorms on record and i can't find a single one that occurred around here in december. every single one was in january/february except for the march superstorm of 1993 which was kind of an anomaly in itself. there's potential to get close to that list or on it if we get 18 inches or more around harrisburg

    The outlook for this winter looks pretty mild. Obviously these things can be wrong and it just takes a lucky setup to give us a huge snowstorm but it's not looking great. Remember the 2011-2012 winter during our last huge la nina? I wouldn't be surprised if this current la nina does something like that either this winter or next winter. Depends how long and how strong it stays but right now it's making its way to being the strongest since the 2010-12 la nina

    It's very unusual I'm up in PA and we've had 4 days where our record high temps have been completely smashed. It's been so warm this october and november that spring flower bulbs are coming back up again. It does look like we're going to see at least a few more systems this month and possibly even december. I mean 2005 did give us systems until early january...

    Still blows my mind we had Laura and Delta hit within 15 miles of eachother in less than 2 months. If 2020 didn't already look apocalyptic enough for the people living there

    in my eyes banging your other shin would be better because your shin already got hit and can only take so much damage before it can take no more. If Delta hits the same areas as a powerful storm I doubt they'll ever try to rebuild that area again. Kinda like how that one city in the late 1800's got hit by 2 powerful hurricanes within a decade and they just gave up and moved everything to "the old dirt town up the road" houston lol

    Then you would be failing to see or underselling the favorable atmospheric conditions that were developing over Hanna and over the western GOM. It just ran out of time to see that potential through. Yep Hanna was intensifying pretty quickly but ran out of water. Otherwise we could have been talking about a cat 2 or 3 potentially making landfall in the US in July. Hanna was very impressive and the wind speeds never caught up due to land interaction and lack of time.

    It's august 12th and on average we only have 1-2 named storms by now. And not only that both the gfs and ecmwf have been horrible this year...how can you be annoyed we haven't had a major when we barely even have named storms at this time lmao obviously we've had a ton of named storms compared to average but there's a reason why many of them haven't taken off...because the environment is usually unfavorable hence the 1-2 average

    Definitely. It's actually scary that so many people will distort reality in favor of anything the president says. These things have been happening to other communities and areas of the country since this administration took office. It's only when he targeted meteorologists, NWS and the weather community that some people finally realized what Trump and his administration have been doing. For anyone complaining why everyone is making a big deal about this...if we sit idly by and say and do nothing then this will become the norm.
