Forecast high was supposed to be a couple degrees cooler than what it is now at 85 degrees. This has been happening so much lately lol

Might have broken the record low tonight. If not it's tied here. Pretty impressive.

So is there an exact reason why weather forecasting has been so inaccurate the past year or two? High today was supposed to be 79 and it's already up to 83. This has been happening a lot more lately not just with temps but inaccurate predictions when it comes to rain and storms as well.

Yeah I'm very worried about the tropical season this year due to the super El Nino developing and the Atlantic La Nina popping up. Doesn't mean we can't inch out a tropical system or two making their way through PA but those chances are massively decreased this year. Now if we weren't in such dire drought conditions it wouldn't be much of an issue but that's usually a saving grace at any other time. The 2026 atlantic hurricane season could be as quiet as the 2015 season was which was extremely inactive. In 2015 we had 4 hurricanes and 11 tropical storms which was also another super El Nino year. Though I don't think we were worrying about rain that year according to the drought monitor data from that summer so it wasn't such a big issue. Here's hoping we get lucky with a storm or two despite the low activity.

Just lost power 4 times in a row. It's insanely rare for me to ever lose power even for a few seconds.

Holy shit it's 103 right now. That's right on the cusp of a top 10 hottest ever for here. Dew point is not as bad as yesterday so the heat index is around identical to what we had.

111 heat index here currently. Absurd.

God might be 99, 102, 102 and 98 here during this heat wave. The pool temp is already 80 degrees if it gets any warmer than that it's not even going to feel refreshing to be in lol

Yeah I keep seeing the temps on Saturday climbing and climbing towards 100. Would be absolutely insane if we got 4 days in a row of 100. Completely unprecedented in our current records. Any temp that gets over 103 would put us in top 10 territory for that specific day heat wise. The only single time we ever got over 104 in Harrisburg was that absurd heatwave in 1966
