  1. Nice day today at Mount Snow with packed powder and machine groomed. Comfortable temperatures in the upper 20's and lower 30's. The mountain is in good shape for the crowds on Presidents Week,
  2. 0.25" YTD 24.50". Changed to rain here at 4am.
  3. As much as you don't like Winter cold, I dislike Summer heat and humidity. If I didn't have this illness, I'd probably live in NNE. I would probably live in Burlington if I was healthy and could enjoy Winter more thoroughly.
  4. I want the early Fall cold shots. The Fall foliage needs it. That's the only thing that saved the season in 2019. It's suffering from global warming. I'm not on here during the Summer anyway. Wasn't last year. Summer weather is boring.
  5. I can wait for heat and humidity. Hate the combo and last Summer was awful. The PLS restricts my breathing and humidity makes it worse.
  6. Rangely seems to be doing okay. I looked at the webcams yesterday and there was enough cover.
  7. Forest fires wiping out thousands of acres of trees. Wells running dry, drought stricken farmers pointing angry fists at the sky

  9. Seems like Dr Troll doesn't either.
  10. So how you deal with snow and cold?
  11. No complaints about this Winter so far, could have avoided the 70F weather a few weeks ago, but I'm not invested in local snowcover. Snowmaking is keeping the local ski season in top shape, comfortable skiing temperatures and firm snow. More snow up North for the snowmobiling folks would be beneficial. Last year's gradient was fine with me, 40" of snow here and 3-4 times that up North.
  12. I skied there in March of 1999, when they still had summit access. This was before the chairlift accident.
  13. Or just cancel all Winter weather completely.
  14. He's just a miserable troll trying to cancel Winter since late November. Some of the best skiing I've ever done has been in March. The most snowfall I've ever seen in one month was in April. The snow sports season here in New England lasts from late October to June.
  15. I skied at Mohawk Mountain today with my son. Beautiful bluebird sunshine with the temperature right around 32F. Suprisingly snowmaking was ongoing all day long on unopened trails. It was a mix of groomed granular and some packed powder on Wildwood which had snowmaking on it last night.
  16. It looks like Saddleback got the loan needed to reopen: https://www.boston.com/news/skiing/2020/01/27/heres-the-latest-on-saddleback-mountain-in-maine
  17. It's January 28th and the Spring equinox is on March 19th, but yeah Spring in a few weeks.
  18. In Germany, you're only allowed to have a family member buried for a limited amount of time, before disinterment and cremation. I remember when my uncle passed away in Germany, he wanted cremation partly for this reason.
  19. The Avianca jet was the first 707 I'd seen up close at that point. This plane was built in 1967 and second hand owned by the time of the crash. I never flew in one, but did go inside SAM970, the first presidential jet Air Force One. It's rare to see a large jetliner crash site with no fire damage.
  20. Stratton, Maine used highway grader's to clear snow in April of 2007. It was so wet and heavy, snowplows couldn't do the job.
