  1. I listed what the NWS posted, above. I believe it is unofficial. Doesn't look like to many if any 50 plus happened.
  2. All I can find for the N.J. observations (MT. Holly) is peak wind gusts of Trenton 33, Philly 42, Georgetown Delaware 43 and Atlantic City 44mph. also Reading Pa. 30.
  3. Yes that is in the National Weather Service report. https://nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=202007110126-KOKX-NOUS41-PNSOKX Here are rain totals: https://nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=202007102343-KOKX-NOUS41-PNSOKX
  4. I looked it up and St. George is in Staten Island on the water, so that gusts makes sense.
  5. The highest was a 52mph at a place called St. George, I will assume it is on the water in Suffolk. Other than that Kennedy and Gilgo Beach had gusts to 46mph. The highest sustained was a few in the upper 30s but most in the 20s to around 30. The national weather service has it listed. The rain in Nassau County was generally 1-2 inches, more west and less east.
  6. The only problem with that is there is a big difference between maximum gusts and sustained winds. Look I don't want to sound like I didn't think it was a good storm or that I don't trust the NHC. I just think they are pretty liberal in naming storms these days compared to the past. There is no doubt in my mind that the NHC, when it comes to tracking these storms, has improved dramatically over years ago.
  7. The center of the low will be making its closest pass to me between now and the next hour or two. Still getting some squally weather with decent wind gusts.
  8. Not really finding any official wind gusts that approach 60mph which was what the storm was advertised as at its peak. Of course that is over the ocean. All the locations I checked were in the 30s and 40s for peak gusts. Can you imagine how anemic some of these other named storms must have been when they had sustained winds of 40-45.
  9. Checked some local observations on peak wind. Central Park 28, La Guardia 38, Islip 40 and leading the way JFK with 45mph. I had 37mph at my house.
  10. Center looks to be inland along the central NJ coast.
  11. I am about 7 miles west of Farmingdale airport and I received 1.30 inches of rain so far. Peak gust 37mph.
  12. Not much rain here but the wind has really picked up. Total rain so far .63 of an inch. Recent wind gust 35mph.
  13. To the east-southeast of the center, out over the ocean, there appears to be a lot of thunderstorm activity. This would look to pivot over long Island and eastern New England if it holds.
  14. Wind starting to pick up, gust to 28mph. So far .44 inch of rain.
  15. Heavy rain moving thru here, winds only gusting to 23mph. so far.
  16. Maximum sustained winds with Fay at 11A.M. update 60mph.
  17. Atlantic City airport reporting wind gust to 44mph.
  18. After a few very light showers earlier, the steady rain appears to be starting here.
  19. Were up to the "F" storm and I think they all have been like this.
  20. New Jersey shore should be windy. I am wondering if those areas that received the heavy rains recently could have some flooding problems.
  21. I think Long Island will get on and off heavy tropical showers and potential storms with windy conditions. New Jersey not much wind with a more steady heavy rain.
  22. Atlantic City airport reporting heavy rain, wind ENE at 22mph gusting to 33mph.
