  1. It does seem like the eastern Gulf is becoming a better possibility
  2. And of course at this point there is still the possibility of a track west of Pensacola and east of Sydney.
  3. .50 inch of rain here, temperature down to 62.
  4. I am hoping and believe Long Islands atmosphere is primed for some heavy rains. Storms and showers are developing before the front has arrived. I just hope what ever we get, the south shore gets their fair share.
  5. Picked up .16 inch of rain, happy to get it.
  6. Rain and thunder here. So far light rain
  7. Looks like 80 degrees is on the back burner for a while but 60s and 70s are nice. Friday, with a very gusty wind, could feel chilly.
  8. Seem to be getting back to what has happened all summer. Decent rains make it to NYC and most of Long Island gets very little. Rain here .03
  9. 86 the high here, now down to 80 with a sea breeze.
  10. Very pleasant high of 75. Now back to summer, good for the pool.
  11. The models have been fluctuating over the amount of heat this week. Now it looks like the end of the week and beginning of October could be chilly. Who knows that could change also.
  12. After a high of 74, now down to 62.
  13. I wouldn't doubt it a month ago but now the average high is about 75 with lower sun angle.
  14. If that happens, probably in the area around Newark. I doubt it especially the 95.
  15. Even 50 degrees here this morning.
  16. down to 56 here. Already in the low 40s near the Catskills
  17. Yes it was a hurricane but did not hit Long Island directly. If it took the same path as Gloria, it would have been one of the worst hurricanes to hit Long Island as it was very strong when it reached our latitude.
  18. First day that has a real fall feel to it. Struggling to get out of the 60s this morning, 67 now.
  19. The last hurricane to take a path up the east coast and strike Long Island was Gloria in 1985. Since then tropical storms have made similar paths but none were classified as hurricanes when they hit our area.
  20. Yea it looks like the models are backing off for the real warmth over the next week here in the northeast. Looks mostly 70s and 80s for the next week or so, for daytime highs.
  21. Decent rains here last night with .73 of an inch.
  22. It is muggy outside with no wind. Maybe a recipe for some decent rains.
  23. I think 90s are done for most of the area. Of course you never know in the hot spot around eastern N.J. near the city.
